You're the engineer labs call when the scattergram looks wrong, QC won't come back in and the morning run is waiting.
You know impedance from VCS from fluorescence flow cytometry. You can tell a sample problem from an instrument problem in the first five minutes, and you can talk a stressed lab tech through a fix by phone. If that's you, we'd like to talk.
The opportunity
Mindray is one of the world's fastest-growing med-tech companies, and our haematology installed base in France is growing fast. We're looking for a senior haematology (hematology) specialist to be our technical reference across the South-East, covering laboratories from Nice to Marseille.
This isn't an entry-level IVD role. You'll combine hands-on field service with expert remote support. You'll be the escalation point for complex haematology issues, the person colleagues come to for advice, and a trusted partner to the laboratories you support. You'll have real autonomy and a direct voice into product improvement through our Global Technical Support team.
What You'll Do
- Fix the hard problems on site: install, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and upgrade Mindray haematology analysers and related IVD systems across the territory.
- Resolve issues remotely: diagnose faults by phone and remote access, guide lab staff through corrective actions, and decide quickly when a site visit is needed.
- Be the technical escalation point between customers, distributors, the France Service team, product specialists and Global Technical Support (GTS).
- Lead installations and major projects: new product introductions, analyser replacements and lab consolidations, with a clean handover and follow-up.
- Deliver planned preventive maintenance on time and to service documentation standards.
- Share your expertise: train customers and colleagues, and raise the level of haematology service capability in the region.
- Shape the products: collect structured feedback from labs and distributors and feed it back for continuous improvement.
- Support Sales and tenders with credible technical input.
- Keep accurate service reports, technical notes and CRM records, and manage your tools, calibrated test equipment, spare parts, loan equipment and company vehicle.
What you'll bring
- 5+ years' hands-on experience servicing and/or supporting haematology (hematology) analysers, whether in the field, on a technical hotline, or both. Experience on any major haematology platform is valued.
- Deep understanding of how haematology analysers work: impedance counting, optical/fluorescence flow cytometry and 5-part differentials, HGB measurement, reticulocyte and NRBC channels, and the reagent chemistry behind them.
- Proven troubleshooting of complex systems: fluidics, pneumatics/pressure, optics, electronics. A structured approach that separates sample, reagent and instrument causes.
- Laboratory quality know-how: QC and Westgard rules, calibration vs. calibration verification, precision and accuracy, and the confidence to discuss them with lab managers and biologists.
- Connectivity knowledge: TCP/IP, LIS/middleware interfacing and remote diagnostics.
- A degree in electronics, biomedical engineering, biology/laboratory science or an equivalent technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Fluent French, plus good written and spoken English for technical escalation and documentation.
- The ability to explain complex topics clearly, whether training a new user or calming a lab under pressure.
- Based in or near Nice or Marseille, happy to travel across the South-East and occasionally elsewhere in France or the EU.
Why join us
- A senior, recognised role: you'll be the haematology expert for the region, not one of many.
- Growth you can see: a rapidly expanding installed base, new product launches, and a real chance to shape how service is delivered in the South-East.
- Autonomy: you organise your territory and your week.
- Competitive package: Rewarding salary package with bonus, company vehicle, phone, laptop, other benefits.
- Industry-leading training on our latest haematology and IVD platforms, and long-term career paths in technical leadership, training or product specialism.
