Join an international group, a leader in low‑carbon growth and committed to tackling climate change. NUWARD, an EDF subsidiary, is dedicated to developing the Group’s small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs). NUWARD is designing a multi‑energy platform capable of delivering low-carbon, competitive electricity and heat to meet the needs of industry and cities. Our SMR, known as the "NUWARD_SMR", features a simple, modular, and prefabricated design, drawing on the proven technologies and expertise of the existing nuclear fleet. Our ambition: to deliver Europe’s first SMR during the 2030s. Do you want to help build a safe, low-carbon, and competitive energy future for Europe? Join us on this journey
Your Missions
Reporting to the Head of Construction, Modularity and Constructability, and working closely with the NSSS Senior Project Manager, you will be instrumental in integrating advanced modularity and constructability levers. Your work will directly contribute to achieving critical competitiveness goals by significantly reducing on‑site construction and commissioning times for our SMR series.
Strategic Development & Expertise
Lead the integration of modularity and constructability strategies within the Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) island. Develop technical recommendations and requirements, guiding architects and project teams in their implementation. Propose innovative solutions to enhance project competitiveness and efficiency.
Project Implementation & Coordination
Drive the execution of modularity and constructability activities from basic design, ensuring adherence to schedules and methodologies (Advanced Work Packaging, Functional Grouping). Coordinate site plan reviews and specialized assessments in collaboration with NSSS teams and various stakeholders. Advise on manufacturing, assembly, and construction impacts, facilitating cross‑functional reviews.
Optimization & Feasibility
Quantify potential cost, schedule, and risk savings through modularity and constructability solutions. Collaborate with supply chain and industrial partners to define optimal construction sequences and verify industrial feasibility, including logistical requirements. Contribute to the development of comprehensive construction and commissioning schedules for the NSSS scope.
Job based in Paris with occasional trips between NUWARD sites and partner engineering and fabrication firms.
