Utilizing a novel hybrid electrochemical process that integrates low-grade heat sources, the company significantly reduces energy consumption and costs compared to traditional DAC methods.
The company's mission is to tackle climate change by removing a billion tons of CO2 by 2050 through the most energy-efficient DAC technology available.
Role Overview:
The Mechanical Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the Engineering team by designing and industrializing the production of key equipment in the DAC process and assisting in the FEED study for the company's first pilot plant.
This position reports directly to the CTO and involves collaboration with various external partners, including electrochemical cell manufacturers and equipment vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical engineering design for components of the electrochemical cell.
- Develop strategies for securing and reducing the production cost of main equipment.
- Support the Process Engineering leader in commissioning the first pilot plant with a capture capacity of 300 tCO2/year.
- Produce pilot plant layout and 3D design, and participate in creating engineering documentation.
- Write equipment specifications and lead inquiries with suppliers.
- Supervise engineering integrator work and pilot plant assembly.
- Occasionally assist the R&D team in designing and sourcing specific experimental setups and pieces.

Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in prototyping and designing mechanical components.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping mechanical components, especially using plastic materials.
- Proven track record in industrializing mechanical assemblies.
- Experience in mechanical stack development within electrochemical setups or similar fields.
- Background in chemical processes or related fields (e.g., PEM electrolyzers, filter press structures in water industries, hydrometallurgy).
