Senior Legal Counsel

Role Description:
Tata Consultancy Services has an exciting opportunity for a Paris-based Senior Legal Counsel to join the Europe Legal team and support TCS business teams across a broad range of legal topics. Our new colleague will join a talented, innovative and diverse team of legal counsels and contract managers in Europe. The legal team in Paris primarily supports the business activities in France, with exposure to Italy, Portugal, and Spain. This role will have a focus on supporting the French business, but there will be an opportunity to work on matters in other regions. You will be mainly responsible for the negotiation and review of IT/outsourcing, digital and software contracts in the private and public sector. You will lead contract reviews and negotiations during a competitive tender process and also in the context of existing customer engagements. While the focus of the role will be on commercial contracting, you will also provide legal support in other areas, such as in the area of employment law as well as in the context of corporate or compliance matters.
Key Skills and Role Requirements:
• Fully qualified French legal counsel. Ideally additional experience or qualification in Italian, Spanish, or Portuguese law.
Approximately 15+ years of relevant experience.
Experience in the field of IT outsourcing, “digital” offerings, IP, software licensing and data privacy and other relevant regulatory aspects.
Excellent communication and drafting skills in French (native) and English language, additional languages will be a plus.
Ideally experienced in the mentoring of junior colleagues.
Ability and mindset to work as a business partner and combine legal expertise with practical advice.
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel within the company, clients, and vendors.
Intercultural sensitivity and interest to work in a diverse environment.
