Context :

As part of an exciting journey to pivot Vallourec’s business towards the Energy Transition, and its New Vallourec transformative strategy, the Group created Vallourec® New Energies, its portfolio of solutions for the energy transition, encompassing growth opportunities in the fields of geothermal energy, CCUS and hydrogen.

The roadmap for Vallourec® New Energies includes development of sales of current ‘core products’ (pipes, connections and associated services) but the ambition is much broader, using all our strengths (pipe making but also international footprint, customers’ proximity, applications know-how, etc.) to develop and deliver to our customers integrated storage systems, namely the Delphy hydrogen storage system which Vallourec will provide as integrated “turnkey” projects.

Delphy is being developed and promoted within an internal “start-up”, with clear roadmap, milestones and resources, and its leadership reports directly to Vallourec’s CEO, which highlights Delphy’s strategic importance as a major Vallourec innovation with strong commercial potential.

To be part of this newly developed business and accompany roll-out of its transformative business model, we are looking for a Hydrogen Storage project manager.

Missions:

Your role will be instrumental in delivering Vallourec’s technology to our customers : you will manage execution of the orders, in a role similar to an “EPC” focused on Vallourec’s scope (hydrogen storage brick of the projects).

This includes ensuring timely deliveries of internal and outsourced packages all the way to final assembly, with strong focus on safety, quality and cash profile.

Therefore, your role will be to:

- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders. Define the execution organization for the projects: Detail the scope of the different execution packages in the project (technical requirements, schedule and budget

- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets and cash curve.

- Identify and secure necessary resources for project execution. Ensure coordination with internal and external resources

- Lead and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.

- Monitor project progress, performance and adjust as necessary.

- Communicate with stakeholders to provide updates on project status, risks, and issues.

- Manage project risks and implement risk mitigation strategies.

- Ensure adherence to project management best practices and methodologies.

- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement, ensure capitalization of the experience of past projects in new projects..

- Mentor and coach team members on project management principles and practices.

Applied to Delphy, the role implies strong focus on industrial gases and especially entails:

- Managing execution of the projects, i.e., includes managing and coordinating internal packages (seamless pipes with premium threaded connections, bespoke accessories, installation by Vallourec’s specialists) and subcontracted packages (civil works, process controls, instrumentation and automation…).

- In collaboration with sales & business development team, participating in tender and contract reviews, to ensure proper preparation of the project during the commercial phase.

- Contributing to structuration of Delphy project management processes from the first orders.

In this position, you will be supported by the sales and business development team, the Delphy technical team, as well as Vallourec’s own organization to execute complex orders. You will be the “face to the customer” during execution of the projects.

Team coordination: none directly but many transversal links (technical teams, production project teams, sales & business development, inside sales…)

Current team: you will be part of a dynamic and agile internal start-up, with high visibility and ambition for the future of the company, gathering people with varied backgrounds, benefitting from resources and support from the whole organization. The ambitious roadmap needs to be implemented and delivered rapidly, to secure Vallourec’s share in a fast growing market. You will bring a new experience into the company and support the expansion of its core business.

Financial dimension of the position: strong importance of ensuring the right profitability and cash management for large scale and high visibility projects.

Major difficulties related to the position: new business for Vallourec, where we need to establish our processes, internally and externally, and to build experience and track record. You participate in the evolution of our business (from pipes to systems): innovative mindset and focus on execution at speed will be key

Required experience:

• Necessary: c. 10 year-experience of project management in industrial gases (technical gases, industrial assets) to build and deliver turnkey facilities, ensure contract management. Experience of construction activities and gas / fluid management processes and/or pressure vessels in industrial context is especially relevant.
• Wished: Prior experience in hydrogen business is a plus.

Required skills:

• Knowledge of project management methodologies. Having a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities with an excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Speaking English fluently is necessary.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Project Management).
