Overview:
As the Project Manager for Retail Expansion, you will play a critical role in overseeing the setup of new Casablanca stores, from conception to completion. Leveraging your expertise in retail construction and project management, you will manage the end-to-end process of store development, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints. Additionally, you will support site selection and lease negotiations, manage relationships with various agencies and construction workers, and drive project governance to ensure successful outcomes.
The role
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of new store setup projects, including permitting, construction, and store opening.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including real estate, design, merchandising, operations, and finance, to define project scope, objectives, and timelines.
- Support site selection efforts by providing input and recommendations based on project requirements and feasibility assessments.
- Support lease negotiations and coordinate with the real estate team to secure suitable locations for new stores.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and expenditures, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to financial guidelines.
- Oversee the selection, hiring, and management of third-party agencies, contractors, and construction workers involved in store development projects.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and progress tracking mechanisms to monitor project status and ensure timely completion.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, address any issues or delays, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications, providing regular updates to key stakeholders and addressing any concerns or inquiries.
- Implement project governance processes and risk management strategies to mitigate project risks and ensure successful project outcomes.
The candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, or related field;
- Proven experience in project management roles within the retail industry, with a focus on store development, construction management, and retail expansion.
- Strong knowledge of retail construction processes, building codes, and regulations, with the ability to manage construction projects from inception to completion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage relationships with external partners.
- Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully leading project teams and driving project governance in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Located with a right to work in Paris, France / London, UK / Amsterdam, Netherlands, or willing to relocate.
