WHO WE ARESyntetica is a rapidly growing startup on a mission to decarbonize the textile industry through textile-to-textile recycling — starting with nylon.Today, most synthetic textiles are made from crude oil, and less than 1% are recycled back into new fibers. We're here to change that. At Syntetica, we’ve developed a patented depolymerization process that breaks down nylon-rich textile waste into virgin-equivalent nylon monomers — while separating materials like elastane, polyester, and cotton for further recycling. To date, we’ve raised >€7M from leading investors including EQT Ventures, the family offices of Peugeot and Etam, BPI France and Entrepreneur First. We’ve already forged key partnerships with major textile players like Victoria’s Secret and ETAM — as well as leading fast fashion, sportswear and automotive brands — and have assembled a core team of 15 experts. If you want to help bring truly circular materials to global scale — and solve one of the textile industry’s biggest sustainability challenges — come build with us.WHO YOU AREAs Finance & Strategy Lead, you will work closely with the COO to drive Syntetica’s financial planning and financing activities, while supporting key strategic initiatives that fuel the company’s growth and industrial scale-up.This role combines financial rigor, strategic insight, and operational ownership — requiring strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills to deliver clear visibility on performance, ensure sound financial management, and support decision-making at company level.RESPONSIBILITIESFinancial PlanningBuild and maintain the company’s business plan and long-term financial projections, ensuring consistency across strategic, operational, and financial dimensions.Support cash flow management, including short-term forecasting, payment scheduling, and cost tracking.Lead monthly and quarterly reporting cycles: consolidate data, track budget vs. actuals, and generate performance insights for leadership and investors.Develop and monitor KPIs across departments to ensure accountability and data-driven decision-making.Fundraising & Non-Dilutive FinancingSupport the leadership team in fundraising efforts by building clear, impactful, and data-driven materials (financial models, decks, and supporting documentation).Lead the company’s non-dilutive financing strategy — from identifying relevant opportunities to structuring, writing, and managing applications for grants, subsidies, and public programs.Manage and coordinate ongoing grant reporting and compliance with public funders.Proactively identify and secure new funding opportunities aligned with Syntetica’s growth roadmap.Strategic Project ManagementConduct market, competitive, and financial analyses to inform strategic decisions and long-term planning.Translate strategic goals into measurable action plans and ensure cross-functional alignment on execution priorities.BACKGROUNDMaster’s degree from a top-tier business or engineering school.5+ years of experience in finance or strategy roles within startups, venture capital, or tier-1 consulting firms.Proven track record in building and maintaining detailed financial models, driving budgeting and forecasting processes, and supporting executive decision-making through financial analysis. Background in industrial or deeptech startups is a strong plus.Experience with fundraising processes, grant applications, or building investor materials is an asset.SKILLSStrong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear insights and actionable plans.Excellent communication and storytelling abilities, particularly in investor- and management-facing contexts.Highly reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive — comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.Proficiency in Excel/Sheets and familiarity with financial tools.Fluent in English; French proficiency is a strong plus, especially for grant-related work and local partnerships. At Syntetica, we are a dynamic group of individuals, united by a common mission, who believe our diversity is key to our success.
