Senior Operations Support Engineer (L2) Location: StrasbourgRole OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Operations Support Engineer (L2) to lead complex production support activities and ensure service continuity across mission-critical systems. The role focuses on rapid incident and problem resolution, operational excellence, and continuous service improvement in line with service levels and reporting expectations defined by the Contracting Authority.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage high-severity (P1/P2) production incidents, ensuring timely resolution and effective communicationDrive root-cause analysis (RCA) and coordinate post-incident corrective and preventive actionsEnsure adherence to incident and problem management SLAs/SLTsDefine and continuously improve monitoring and alerting strategiesEstablish and maintain performance baselines and operational metricsDesign and implement preventive maintenance and operational improvement initiativesProduce operational reports and ensure compliance with contractual and governance requirementsCollaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and architecture teams to improve system reliability and resilienceMentor and support L1/L2 engineers and contribute to operational best practicesRequired Skills & Experience7+ years of experience in IT operations or production supportAt least 3 years in a senior or lead operations roleStrong, hands-on knowledge of ITIL processes, particularly Incident, Problem, and Change ManagementSolid experience with observability and monitoring toolsExperience with automation and scripting to improve operational efficiencyStrong understanding of containerized and cloud-native environmentsTechnical ExpertiseMonitoring and observability platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, Dynatrace)Container technologies and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)Automation and scripting (Bash, Python, or similar)Nice to HaveExperience in regulated, enterprise, or public-sector environmentsITIL certification (Foundation or higher)Experience working with contractual SLAs and formal reporting structures
