With over 10,000 employees in 20 countries supporting the energy transition, Eramet is constantly on the lookout for precious resources. The Innovation Protection Manager is responsible for overseeing the protection of the company’s novel technologies and intellectual property, including processes, equipment and materials. This role involves working closely with R&D and legal teams to identify patentable innovations, trade secrets and other proprietary intellectual property, managing the patent application process and Freedom-to-Operate risk.

Contribute to the development and implementation of the IP strategy with the support of R&D and legal teams,
Plan, prepare, and coordinate the process of innovation protection to facilitate decisions on R&D innovation ideas,
Prepare all relevant materials for patent applications, including writing descriptions and designing drawings,
Manage and instruct patent attorney firms in the submission and prosecution of patent applications to the appropriate patent offices.
Collaborate on external partnerships, such as joint development agreements and consortiums, to further innovation goals.
Lead the patent surveillance system (using Orbit software) and setting up alerts.


A graduate degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
At least 5 years of experience in a technical role within an R&D environment, with a strong background in technology and intellectual property, particularly patents.
