Summary:

Our client is a privately-owned European company with a strong know-how in the production of thermoplastic compounds based on a wide range of engineering polymers. The product range has been progressively expanded over the years and with a focus on sustainability and innovation, the company is becoming more and more recognised for their high-performance material solutions.

Thermoplastic materials offered by our client are used in a multitude of applications for manufacturing injection moulded and extruded components for the White Goods, Electrical & Electronics, Automotive, Furniture, Building & Construction and Sports & Leisure sectors. Focusing on project-based sales of a tailor-made material solution, our client offers a comprehensive technical support to their customers throughout the whole developmental cycle with their in-house team of experts, who stay abreast with the latest legal regulations and industry directives within the applicable market segments.

Our client’s current commercial organisation enables them to effectively manage sales and technical support in all the continents with warehouses located throughout Europe, America and Asia. All this allows the company to offer to their customers a complete range of high-performance compounds and to provide a proper solution to any technical requirements.

As part of their expansion strategy, our client is looking to strengthen their European sales team with an additional appointment in France.

Your Tasks:

  • Manage sales and business development activities of thermoplastic compounds across all relevant industries (White Goods, E&E, Automotive, Sports & Leisure etc.) in France.
  • In a close co-operation with Sales & Marketing Director, develop and execute sales plan.
  • Focus on building and nurturing strong customer relationships based on trust and partnership, enabling long-term repetitive business.
  • Provide regular progress updates, including sales forecasts and customer meeting reports.
  • Fully utilise internal resources and involve a technical specialist on any new projects with clients of strategic importance.
  • Identify, quantify and action new sales opportunities, effectively communicating to internal stakeholders on key milestones and necessary actions.
  • Regular personal visits to existing and prospective customers.
  • Maintain compliance with all internal policies and procedures.

Your Profile:

  • Existing sales experience of thermoplastic compounds with a successful track record of independently developing a new customer base.
  • Ability to acquire new clients through a value-added sales approach, focusing on promoting specific material solutions for a given application.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong interpersonal skills and an inner drive to generate satisfactory results and achieve set goals.
  • A sufficient understanding of plastics processing methods, in particular injection moulding and extrusion, preferably with previous hands-on experience.
  • A good knowledge of specialty compounds, their applications and material properties.
  • A self-propelling, motivated, independent project manager, who is able to set own objectives.
  • Degree in a technical or engineering discipline, preferably related to the plastics technology.
  • Fluency in French and English are required. Additional European languages would be advantageous.
  • Willingness and readiness to travel, mainly domestically, but also internationally for internal meetings, trade fairs, conferences etc.
