IT System Administrator (m/f/d)
TWINCORE is a joint institution of the Helmholtz Center for Infection Research (HZI) and the Hannover Medical School (MHH). At TWINCORE, physicians and basic scientists conduct joint research in infection research, particularly at the interface between basic research and clinical development. This basic research aims to develop new therapies and diagnostic procedures for patients and at the same time find answers to questions from clinical practice.
The administration takes care of all organizational tasks and works closely with the management and all scientific departments. TWINCORE sees the current challenges in IT, particularly in the area of cyber security and the use of AI, as an important part of the company's sustainable success. Therefore, in addition to meeting the requirements of users, particular emphasis is placed on the further development of the IT infrastructure. Conceptual development of the IT infrastructure in cooperation with the management/administrative management
User support for TWINCORE employees in all IT matters
Support for all local systems under Windows, Linux and MacOS
Support for all global server systems (virtualized)
Support for all global disk systems
Service and maintenance for the network in the TWINCORE building (firewall, router, switches)
Installation and support for specific scientific software
Technical support for video conferencing technology and at events
Coordination of cooperation with the IT departments of both shareholders
Successfully completed technical university/bachelor's degree in the field of computer science or information technology or successfully completed technical training in the IT field (e.g. IT specialist) with several years of relevant experience
Extensive experience in the administration of IT systems under Debian and Ubuntu
Software-defined storage (Ceph and ZFS)
Very good oral and written knowledge of German and English
