The Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems is an internationally oriented research institute where more than 200 scientists from over 40 countries and over 1,000 international guests a year conduct basic research in the field of theoretical physics. The institute is a venue for scientific conferences and seminars. A team of around 30 employees in the infrastructure is responsible for research-related tasks. As the institute's internal IT department with five employees, we offer comprehensive IT services from a single source.

IT Specialist (m/f/d) Identity and Access ManagementFull-time (39 hours)
with a passion for mastering demanding IT challenges to foster a collaborative research environment.
The Identity and Access Management (IAM) department is responsible for all measures relating to the development, integration and operation of the institute's Identity and Access Management and OpenLDAP directory. The focus here is on the role and authorization management of identities (persons, functions and organizational data) and the provision of these for IT systems and applications.
Your tasks:- Responsible for the design of IAM solutions
- Planning and development of an IAM architecture in the Unix / Linux environment based on OpenLDAP
- Analysis and evaluation of new technologies, research and developments in the IT environment
- Collaboration with employees within IT and other service departments to implement requirements
- Concept development, implementation and technical support of the future IAM system as well as planning, integration and migration of existing or new IT applications
- Coordination and implementation of architecture-related adjustments based on IT security requirements
- Creating concepts and documentation
- Completed IT-related studies or a comparable qualification, professional experience is an advantage
- Sound IT knowledge, primarily in the Unix / Linux area
- Ability to work in a team, a careful way of working, initiative and willingness to perform
- Presentation skills and the ability to present complex issues in a way that is appropriate for the target audience
- Language skills: Very good written and spoken German and English
- Fixed-term contract initially for two years with the option of long-term job security
