Welcome to SMA The Global Key Account Manager is responsible to enable one of SMAs largest existing or potential French customers to develop their global pipeline of solar, storage and hydrogen projects with SMA equipment and service. This person perfectly understands the various stakeholders within the account, their decision-making process and is able to influence this decision towards SMA and to establish a contractual frame-work agreement for direct or indirect procurement to secure long-term business for SMA. This role includes leading the global key account team as well as a close collaboration with internal resources such as market intelligence, business development, contract management, legal, engineering services and various more. Global Key Account Manager (m/w) – Full time - Permanent - Lyon (hydride) Key responsibilities:
Responsible for management of Key Accounts customers with French headquarters and fostering long lasting relationships, leading the global key account team
Monitor, coordinate, and facilitate activities worldwide for strategically important customers, taking into account various business models in close partnership with the relevant SMA specialist departments and stakeholders
Management of projects pipeline and sales process through Salesforce
Identify, engage and secure relationships with key decision makers within customers organization
Understand and influence customers decision making process
Responsible for the sales of the entire SMA Large Scale segment product range, from Tender stage to project completion, and facilitate the relationship over the entire lifecycle of the customers assets
Working closely with internal specialist departments to respond to customer queries and tenders. Building 'bid teams' cross-functional
Manage the global profitability of the account
Attend trade shows, trade partner evens (conferences, congresses…) and conduct quarterly and annual meetings with key customers
Implement sales campaigns (e.g. in-house trade shows, training seminars, and technical advice sessions) and product-related on-site training workshops
Identify and analyze sales and market trends. Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor´s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent in combination with excellent commercial skills, a Business degree is an asset
Relevant professional experience in Key or Global Account Management, especially working with high-value customers in a project space
Strategic selling principles
Convincing professional sales personality with high customer orientation and commercial contractual negotiation skills (understanding of legal and commercial terms)
Independent and result-oriented in combination with high motivation, flexibility as well as excellent communication skills
Experience in the renewable industry (Utility) is strongly preferrable
Experience working with multinational corporations
Very good English language skills, French native speaker
Willingness to travel (>50%)
Industry and product knowledge :
- Ability to read and understand customer specifications
- Ability to understand technical aspects of SMA products
- Ability to pitch SMA products and services via presentations and meetings
