Launched in 2021, Orus is one of Europe's fastest-growing insurtechs. Our mission is simple: make professional insurance radically easier for small businesses.
Today, professional insurance is still complex, opaque and inefficient. At Orus, we make it simple, fast, transparent and human.
We have raised over €41M, including a €25M Series B, and are backed by leading European entrepreneurs, insurance executives and top-tier funds including Partech, Notion Capital and Singular.
We're now a team of around 160 people, serving more than 60,000 customers and building our European presence across France, Spain and the Netherlands.
And we're just getting started.
The opportunity
Orus has grown from 30 to around 160 people in less than three years. We've built new teams, entered new markets and welcomed many first-time managers.
Now we need to make sure our organization, leadership practices and People foundations grow just as fast as our business.
This is where you come in.
We're looking for a Senior HR Business Partner to help us navigate our next stage of growth.
Reporting directly to our Head of People, you'll work closely with our leadership team and managers across Sales, Tech, Product, Insurance and Operations.
We're looking for someone who understands the business, knows how to challenge leaders, can navigate complex people situations and turns organizational challenges into concrete solutions.
You'll combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, helping us build a high-performing organization without losing the agility and entrepreneurial culture that make Orus special.
Your mission
Your role will focus on three priorities:
1. Partner with leaders and drive organizational performance
Act as a trusted advisor to managers and senior leaders, understanding their business challenges and translating them into People priorities.
Challenge and coach managers on leadership, accountability, performance and difficult people decisions.
Partner on organizational design, team structures, workforce planning and succession planning.
Proactively identify people risks and opportunities before they become business problems.
2. Build a high-performance and development culture
Drive talent and performance discussions, ensuring clear expectations, meaningful feedback and accountability.
Partner with leaders on talent reviews, career development, promotions and compensation decisions.
Identify and develop key talent, strengthen retention and address underperformance.
Navigate complex employee relations and sensitive organizational situations with confidence, sound judgment and pragmatism.
3. Shape our People strategy as we scale internationally
Help translate Orus's business ambitions into concrete People initiatives across France, Spain and the Netherlands.
Partner with the Head of People to build scalable leadership, talent and organizational practices.
Use People data and employee insights to challenge assumptions, influence decisions and anticipate organizational needs.
Strengthen our culture and management standards as we grow, balancing consistency with local realities.
What this role is not
This is not a People Operations or HR administration role. We're also strengthening our People Ops function, which will own payroll, contracts, HRIS and HR administration.
We're looking for someone whose strength lies in business partnering, leadership advisory, organizational effectiveness and talent management.
About you
We're looking for an experienced, business-minded HR professional who loves working with leaders and making organizations better.
What we're looking for:
6+ years of experience in HR, with a strong track record as a business-facing HRBP in a fast-growing organization.
Experience scaling an organization from 100 to 200+ employees.
Fluent French and English are mandatory. You'll regularly work and communicate in both languages.
Proven ability to partner with and challenge senior leaders.
Strong business acumen and experience in organizational design, performance management and talent development.
Solid knowledge of French employment law and experience navigating complex employee relations situations.
Comfortable operating in ambiguity
