Melt Group is looking for a Head of Commissioning on behalf of one of the biggest engineering companies in the steel-making sector in all Europe. The ideal candidate would be based in the North of France.

Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the commissioning function for complex industrial plant installations, acting as senior coordinator across all phases (pre-commissioning, cold/hot commissioning, ramp-up)
- Define commissioning strategy with Project Management and Engineering
- Review and validate procedures, checklists, test protocols and start-up sequences prepared by others
- Coordinate multiple contractors, engineering firms and multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation)
- Identify and manage interferences between systems and contractors; adapt plans to real-time issues and site conditions
- Act as main technical point of contact with the client (acceptance testing/FAT, KPI validation, plant stabilization, client training)
- Ensure strict safety compliance, with authority to stop work when needed
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in commissioning of industrial/steel plants
- Proven hands-on site experience with clear, recent progression into a coordination/leadership role — senior profile only, not junior potential or partial exposure
- Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field
- English C1 or higher (mandatory); additional languages a plus
- Strong technical leadership on site
- High problem-solving capability and decision‑making under pressure
- Results‑oriented, autonomous, hands‑on mindset xuezdbg
