Senior Teradata Developer (onsite work in Paris)

Job Description

This role is responsible for the development and implementation of data warehouse solutions for company-wide application and managing large sets of structured and unstructured data. The candidate will be expected to analyze complex customer requirements in alignment with client’s best practices to gather, define and document data transformation rules and its implementation. The Teradata Developer needs to have a strong affinity with Teradata SQL development and must be capable of working autonomously: taking ownership of deliverables, managing priorities independently, and making sound technical decisions without requiring close oversight. The role is embedded in a multidisciplinary team consisting of business analysts, IT architects, data engineers, and project managers. Strong communication skills in French are therefore essential, as the candidate will act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout all phases of development and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Translate the business requirements into technical requirements.
• ETL development using native (TPT, SQL, …) tools & utilities.
• Write and optimize complex SQL and shell scripts.
• Design and develop code, scripts, and data pipelines that leverage structured and unstructured data.
• Interact with IT and Business teams regularly for all phases of the project work.
• Design and develop processes/procedures for integration of data warehouse solutions in an operative IT environment.
• Monitoring performance and advising any necessary configurations & infrastructure changes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation that is required in supporting solutions.
• At least half-time presence in customer offices within Paris region.

Skills and Qualifications

• B.S. / M.S. in Computer Sciences or related field.
• Strong RDBMS concepts and Teradata SQL development skills.
• Good understanding of data modeling and mapping.
• Experience with Data Integration from multiple data sources and Web Interfaces.
• Working experience in Finance is a plus.
• Experience in projects using Agile delivery is mandatory.
• Experience with Teradata tools and technologies is required.
• Strong communication and presentation skills in French & English, with the ability to translate complex technical topics for non-technical audiences across a multidisciplinary team (business analysts, architects, project managers).
• Ability to work autonomously: self-manage priorities, take ownership of deliverables, and make independent technical decisions within a structured project context.
• Ability to solve problems using a creative and logical, proactive mindset.
• Must be self-motivated, analytical, detail oriented, organized and pursue excellence on all tasks.
