The position is based in Neuilly-sur-Seine.
As a member of the Innovation and Development team, you will develop and qualify a portfolio of projects ranging from simple to complex. This involves creating technical solutions for color cosmetics formulas, from design to industrialization at contract manufacturers.
In this role, you will use your technical, communication, and project management skills. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, both internal (Marketing, Packaging, Purchasing, Planning, Finance, Regulatory, Supply Chain) and external (Suppliers, Contract Manufacturers, Design Agencies), is crucial. Success measures include on-time launch delivery, expected quality, capacity, and cost.
**You will excel and enjoy this position if you are ready to actively handle the following missions**:
- Collaborate with Marketing and Packaging on new briefs to meet technical and financial needs.
- Work with Procurement to respect cost and margin targets.
- Conduct risk assessments and project feasibility.
- Design new formulas at contract manufacturers, considering packaging constraints, and guide them to achieve top formulas. Identify early red flags.
- Support Marketing by identifying technical differentiators and creating compelling stories.
- Ensure impactful claims management.
- Follow all steps of formula development and provide necessary information to suppliers.
- Manage industrialization and scale-up phases, and attend line trials to meet quality expectations.
- Work with Quality to provide specifications, approve standards, and lead handover meetings.
- Report regularly on development status and identify mitigation plans.
- Maintain catalogues and lead reformulation projects.
- Support sustainability and innovation programs and build strong relationships with contract manufacturers..
- Experience working in technical roles, in the Beauty industry, minimum 3 years, with strong expertise in formulation and industrialization.
- Academic qualifications: Scientific Bachelors (chemistry, formulation, or other relevant discipline).
- Capability of operating in a fast-moving projects pipeline.
- Willingness to work in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Problem-solving skills. Ability to identify smart solutions with the right level of pragmatism.
- Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills for verbal and written communication of ideas, technical rationales, risks, issues, and recommendations.
- Able to travel when required.
- Excellent English communication skills.
