Within this framework, as research engineer you will drive innovation by improving the performance of complex industrial manufacturing processes (energy consumption, CO2 emissions, production yields, waste management). Towards these objectives, you are expected to:
- Perform in-depth process analyses (physical phenomena, scaling laws) in collaboration with local technical staff.
- Propose and implement experimental, analytical and/or numerical methodologies, in order to identify the best possible solutions for our customers (development of digital twins and optimization based on physical modelling and data analysis).
- Establish and supervise scientific collaborations with both national and international academic and/or industrial partners (PhD theses, postdocs).
- Work effectively and cooperatively with our customers in a multidisciplinary and international industrial environment.
- Support and/or coordinate R&D plant (or pilot) scale trials.
- Communicate on your R&D activities on a regular basis.

Dans ce cadre, vous contribuerez à l'innovation en améliorant la performance de procédés industriels de fabrication complexes (consommation d'énergie, émissions de CO2, rendements de production, gestion des déchets). Dans le cadre de ces objectifs, vos missions seront les suivantes:
- Réaliser des analyses approfondies des procédés (phénomènes physiques, lois d'échelle) en collaboration avec les équipes techniques locales.
- Proposer et mettre en œuvre des méthodologies expérimentales, analytiques et/ou numériques, afin d'identifier les meilleures solutions possibles pour nos clients (développement de jumeaux numériques et optimisation basée sur la modélisation physique et l'analyse de données).
- Etablir et encadrer des collaborations scientifiques avec des partenaires académiques et/ou industriels nationaux et internationaux (thèses de doctorat, post-doctorants).
- Travailler efficacement et en collaboration avec nos clients dans un environnement industriel multidisciplinaire et international.
- Soutenir et/ou coordonner les essais à l'échelle de l'usine (ou pilote) de R&D.
- Communiquer régulièrement sur vos activités de R&D.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD with a broad background in a relevant field of engineering, physics and/or applied mathematics (such as fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics, continuum mechanics, biomechanics, modelling of complex rheology, combustion, stability analysis, optimisation).
- Your approach to research is hands-on, innovative and strongly result-oriented.
- Your commitment to research excellence is supported by a promising track record of scientific achievements, as appropriate to your career stage (PhD, post-doc, first experience).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (in both English and French) and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences also represent a key requirement for this position, as well as the aptitude to work effectively and cooperatively in a multicultural environment.
- Doctorat avec une large expérience dans un domaine pertinent de l'ingénierie, de la physique et/ou des mathématiques appliquées (comme la mécanique des fluides, les transferts de chaleur et de masse, la thermodynamique, la mécanique des milieux continus, la biomécanique, la modélisation de la rhéologie complexe, la combustion, l'analyse de stabilité, l'optimisation).
- Votre approche de la recherche est pratique, innovante et fortement axée sur les résultats.
- Votre engagement envers l'excellence de la recherche est soutenu par des réalisations scientifiques prometteuses, en fonction de votre expérience précédemment acquise (thèse, post-doc, première expérience)
