**Background**
**Responsibilities & Duties**
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for managing and implementing the safety and environment programs within the organisation. They act as a crucial link between management and employees, ensuring that workplace safety protocols are adhered to, and environmental regulations are diligently followed.
The Safety Coordinator must ensure that the applicable legal requirements are identified and respected and that the health, safety and environment culture is well integrated and understood by all employees and applied in line with the guidance provided.
Main responsibilities will be:
- Compete construction site visits.
- Complete safety audits onsite.
- Maintain regular safety reports ensuring all documentation is up to date and project specific.
- Report to Site Manager with safety concerns.
- Advise on alteration of control measures within the company prevention plan.
- Accident investigation - liaison with Site SPS Officer when required.
- Incident prevention.
- Raising employee awareness regarding occupational safety.
**Qualifications**
- Education:_ A bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science is required.
- Certifications:_ Certificat de Qualification Professionnelle (CQP) Sécurité or NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) or IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health).
- Language Skills:_ Proficiency in French
- Experience:_ Relevant work experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in a similar role or industry.
- Knowledge of Regulations:_ Familiarity with French health and safety regulations, such as the Code du Travail (Labor Code).
- Teamwork and Leadership:_ As a safety coordinator, you'll work closely with other members of the team and management to implement safety measures and policies. Leadership skills are valuable for effectively managing safety programs and promoting a culture of safety in the workplace.
