**Airbus Helicopters **is looking for a **Flight Loop Engineer **(f/m) **to join our Aeromechanics & Performance Department of Airbus Helicopters’ Design office based in **Marignane, France.**

You will be integrated in a transnational team of about 60 engineers in charge of scientific analyses and design within the flight physics domain. It deals in particular with Aerodynamics, Aerothermal, Flight Mechanics, Performance and Flight loops activities

One of the missions of the department is to lead Aeromechanics and flight loops activities, to ensure proper definition of VTOL ( Vertical Take-off and Landing aircraft) versus handling qualities and to develop associated realistic real time models for development of full flight simulators. We are working on activities for all programs including military programs, from pre-development to certification, research programs in order to develop advanced methodologies and support of the Helicopters during service life.

The position will be focused on Flight Loops activities. In this domain, part of challenges is to develop and integrate models and tools able to simulate helicopters behavior in flight and all associated phenomena, with high fidelity, for development phases, design optimization, certification, training of pilots and accident investigations.

You will be specifically in charge of development and tuning of Flight Mechanics and Engine real times models when AFCS (Automatic flight control systems) and control systems models are provided by others departments. After integration of these models in a global Flight Loop, you will be in charge of the tuning both against flight data and in accordance with Airbus Helicopters pilot feedbacks. When relevant, you will support external partners for the qualification of training simulators.

You will also contribute to the aircraft optimization process, providing overall aircraft stability and piloting capability, sensitivity studies and recommendation to Helicopter architects and designers

Furthermore, you will contribute to the optimization of the global design of Airbus products during the development phase and the enhancement of leading competences in the areas of Aeromechanics & performance along with the required methods and tools.

Beside this, you will support product certification and the evolution of requirements in that area and promote continuous process improvements.

In a second step, the position may evolve on a larger field of competencies inside the department depending on business needs and your abilities.

**Your challenges**:

- Contribution to initial specifications (including definition of Flight loop interfaces, functions to be simulated and acceptance tests) which may conduct to technical negotiations with simulator industry or internal/external customers.
- Generation and evaluation of 1st version of helicopter model based on available information. Models adaptations may be required and will be realized in relation with helicopter model responsible.
- Specifications of engine data package required to engine manufacturers, and engine model development based on this data package.
- Integration of helicopter, engine and controls systems models to constitute Flight loop
- Support to internal AH customers and/or simulator industry for pre-integration / integration of the models
