Humanity & Inclusion (HI) is an independent and impartial aid organisation working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. Since its creation in 1982, HI has run development programmes in more than 59 countries and responded to numerous emergencies. Today, we have a budget of approximately 230 million euros, with 4705 employees worldwide.

**CONTEXT**:
HI’s Armed Violence Reduction (ARV) Technical Division (19 staffs) is looking for a dynamic, creative and bilingual (French and English) officer to deploy development of case studies and support policy and development of our Comprehensive AVR value proposition.

**OBJECTIVES**:
As part of a multi-mandated organization focusing on bringing tangible improvements to the living conditions of people with disabilities and vulnerable populations and being a valuable contributor to the sustainable development goals, the Officer will contribute to support demonstration of AVR Comprehensive and People Centered Approach’s implementation and added value.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The purpose of the AVR officer is to promote HI-AVR technical expertise, strategy and approach through:
1. Support HI- AVR visibility and value proposition to influence the priorities and actions of decision-makers (60%)
- Set objectives and standards for capturing case studies -including methodologies and templates;
- In collaboration with AVR Policy & Development Unit and Advocacy and Institutional Relations Departments, conceptualise, and plan publications that lead to a better understanding of the implementation of AVR Comprehensive Approach in priority countries ;
- In collaboration with field teams, pilot the design, background research and conduction of in-depth case study including collection of strong evidence and materials;
- Design and ensure the layout of internal and external materials to illustrate the effectiveness of AVR interventions;
- In collaboration with AVR Policy and Development Unit and AIR, develop and contribute to a dissemination strategy and support AVR advocacy activities.

2. Develop internal capacities on Study activities (20%)
- Support the animation of the AVR Influence Community of Practice related to field of expertise;
- Develop learning materials and provide trainings to field teams for the successful conduction and completion of qualitative case study ;
- Identify the needs regarding training, write content for training and give trainings
- Provide technical guidance and support field teams to conduct strategic and qualitative case studies, provide editing when needed.

3. Support the implementation of the HI AVR strategy 10%

4. Support the comprehensive and people-centered vision in project & partnership development 10%

You work on a day-to-day basis with a large range of actors within the HI structure, including:

- Armed Violence Reduction technical unit,
- HQs Operation staff,
- Advocacy, communication and institutional fundraising teams,
- Programme teams, remotely and during direct programme support missions.

**DESIRED PROFILE**:

- Advanced university degree or equivalent in international law, human rights, international relations, humanitarian aid, political science, gender studies or related field is required.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in conducting studies / leading learning / MEAL
- Master Project Cycle
- Ability to develop new resources -including methodologies
- or adapt existing resources in order to make them evolve, in English and French.
- Ability to coordinate and work with multi-disciplinary teams as well as a variety of people
- Empathic attitude. Demonstrate interest in what each person is experiencing and feeling, "putting themselves in another person's place" and listening to their needs adopt an attitude of acceptance and non-judgment of the person
- Demonstrate and safeguard ethics and integrity

**CONDITIONS OF THE POSITION**:

- Type of contract : 12 months contract ASAP
- Additional benefits: luncheon vouchers and health insurance
- Working hours: 39 hours a week with 22.5 days of RTT (work time reduction) to be taken each year
