Role Summary
- The Category Management Partner leads the strategic procurement category management process in the assigned global spend area of primary packaging components and delivery devices in support of Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) network.
- You will be responsible for delivering exceptional sourcing and contracting value to Pfizer Stakeholders through the timely development, oversight, and delivery of global category strategies aligned with current and future business needs.
- You will work with key PGS stakeholders and Business Partners across the organization to develop and implement global sourcing strategies that support business objectives and deliver value, ensuring alignment to category management value levers.
- You will continuously improve through innovative solutions the PGS Fundamental Value Proposition in terms of value delivery, quality, supply, and cost of these components within the assigned spend areas.

Role & Responsibilities

Category Strategy Design & Management
- Develops strategies and provides guidance to others for delivery of exceptional category value to Pfizer stakeholders through the timely development, oversight, and delivery of global category strategies aligned with current & future business needs
- Develops and maintains category plans that align with overall sourcing strategy and partners with category execution teams for implementation, where applicable
- Acts as representative for the category internally within S&ES and Pfizer customers and externally to suppliers
- Manages large complex sourcing projects, as needed, and Sourcing needs for New Product Launch Planning
- Applies advanced knowledge of market trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies related to the categories managed, and incorporate new ideas, material breakthroughs and innovations into sourcing strategies
- Coordinates long range forecast for future needs to anticipate demand and define specifications and requirements
- Leads supplier diversity and sustainability initiatives related to managed categories, and promote responsible sourcing practices across the organization

Supplier Relationship Management
- Leads / Co-leads strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders, and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Drives supplier innovation by collaborating with supplier to identify new products, technologies, and process that can deliver exceptional value to Pfizer
- Leads supplier segmentation strategy to categorize suppliers based on their criticality to the business, risk level, and potential for innovation and growth

Business Partner Relationship Ownership
- Partners with internal stakeholders, including business leaders and cross-functional teams, to understand business requirements and develop sourcing strategies that align with company goals and objectives
- Leads the strategy for business partners with relation to business needs for managed categories, ensuring alignment to global category strategy and maximizing category management value levers
- Works with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, rationalization, and optimization, and implement appropriate supplier management strategies

Required Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations & Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
- 7 years of experience in sourcing & procurement with category management process expertise
- Demonstrated success in managing complex, cross-functional projects
- Experience managing and leading cross-functional teams
- History of developing & negotiating complex contracts
- Business English required

Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Master’s degree in strategy, management, or related field is a plus
- Similar sourcing/ procurement experience with similar Blue-chip organization
- Certifications preferred: CPSM, CPM, PMP, MCIPS
- Understanding of the Global PFS and/or Delivery Device external supply markets and key industry trends

Other Job Skills/ Knowledge
- Strong understanding of end-to-end procurement and sourcing and contracting processes and tools
- Strong understanding of category management and strategy development
- Excellent communication skills to be able to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Comfort with ambiguity & ability to identify innovative sourcing strategies
- Strong business operations acumen and negotiation skills
- Effective project management, communications, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software
