To date, we have deployed over 52,000 fuel cell systems, 15,000 small scale electrolyzers, 165 hydrogen refueling stations dispensing more than 40 tons per day of hydrogen to our fuel cell customers. We are one of the very few companies that is already building large scale electrolysis plant, and we will commission this year the largest PEM electrolyzer in the world. In Europe, we welcomed 10x more team members in 2021, and are now more than 200 employees. As we increase hydrogen demand with material handling solutions and on-road commercial vehicles, we experience first-hand the exponential growth of our business. The Group is developing green H2 production plants strategically located to cover key areas of demand while developing a reliable and cost-effective large-scale transportation network.

Position Summary Title: Engineer, Project Development Europe
The Project Engineer is responsible to coordinate Plug Power’s engineering and procurement processes for major hydrogen-based projects. The person on the position is a major contributor for the project’s success. The project infrastructure typically comprises of compression units, low
- and high-pressure storage tanks, dispensers, electrolyzers. This position will work with the internal Plug Power project team, engineering service providers, permitting agencies, contractors, the industrial gas companies, suppliers, and the end-customer to ensure a smooth transition during hydrogen system deployments. He will support the Project Development Director to create and implement the department administration processes and tools for efficient project control and execution and reports to him.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Plug Power HSE objectives are to achieve zero harm to people, environment and facilities during the execution of our duties.
- Develop best practice and processes for the administration of project tenders, research projects and project execution phases.
- Expedite interface information from internal and external parties.
- Provide Business Development team with required information from technical and project development group.
- Prepare project administration tools and systems to ensure smooth information flow between parties.
- Work on internal and EU funded research projects in the area of hydrogen production.
- Always represent Plug Power with the highest professional and ethical standards and in all interactions
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Business School or other applicable field of study.
- Two (2) plus years of relevant work experience - Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Exceptional data analysis and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated aptitude for systems thinking and creative problem solving.
- Ability to work effectively in both a self-directed and team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office software.
- Must be highly driven and motivated to achieve goals
