**Accounting Officer**

**CONTEXT**

Today, the Pasteur Network brings together 33 public health research institutes located in 25 countries over 5 continents, mobilizing the services of several thousand researchers, engineers and technicians. A vast scientific and human community, it actively participates in national and international programs covering research, public health, and training / mobility programs.

The Pasteur Network is organized as a French Association governed by French law (1901). Its governance has recently evolved to be more participative and representative of the current needs of its members. The Pasteur Network is working on increasing its visibility, developing ambitious collaborative scientific projects and strategic partnerships, and implementing a regional and global fundraising policy.

Under the responsibility of the Secretary General of the Pasteur Network, the missions of the Accounting Officer will consist of ensuring the most effective accounting of the projects and Pasteur Network Association, irrespective of funding source and of maintaining all financial and accounting records for the organization with strict adherence to policies and standards.

**TASK**

The primary tasks of the position will be to:

- Process all financial transactions to enable accurate financial reporting and monitoring in collaboration with the Pasteur Network team
- Control Compliance of expenditures and payments to vendors and staff within Pasteur Network policies and procedures and contribute to their development
- Ensure management of accounts payable and receivable including staff accounts, VAT and vendors when required
- Prepare reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis to ensure exceptions are identified and dealt with promptly
- Maintain cash receipts, vendor invoices, bank statements and other records of accounts
- Maintain and manage archiving of financial documents to safeguard financial records and audit trails. Develop and maintain the data retention schedule for finance, accounting and procurement
- Coordinate with auditors during audits and do financial audit preparation.
- Ensure Statutory deductions are paid on time.
- Interface with Pasteur Network staff on financial systems and processes related to the organization activities
- Perform month-end closing process
- Professional qualification in accounting (CPA(K), or other)
- Good knowledge of general French accounting
- Minimum Bachelor of Commerce Degree, BTS CG or any accounting-related discipline
- At least 3 years of accounting experience (preferably in INGO or non-profit French association)
- Well-versed in computerized accounting packages
- Highly motivated and interested working in a global environment
- Flexible with working hours
- Mandatory English and French

**Location**: Paris 15th arrondissement, France

**Salary**: Salary is negotiable based on experience

**Contract type**: Full time, CDD (possibility of switching to CDI)
