Coty is currently undergoing an end-to-end transformation, under the leadership of Sue Y. Nabi, our visionary CEO, as well as her Executive Committee and Senior Leadership Team. The transformation, called “All-In To Win (AITW)” is being coordinated by Chief Transformation Officer Gordon von Bretten (EC level), who this role reports into.
Gordon and his small transformation team of 5 people are driving change across the organization through 5 key work streams under AITW:
**Funding the Journey**: Achieving best-in class overhead costs, a dynamic organization, and lean processes
**C1 Attack**: Improving Coty’s gross margin to competitive levels
Delivering sustainable, profitable growth --- incl. expansion in ecommerce, China, skincare, etc.
**Cash Olympics**: Freeing up cash to reduce Coty’s debt
**Accelerating ESG**: Focus on sustainability, diversity & inclusion, culture
This role would have the opportunity across the above streams, the All-In To Win Transformation program has extremely high profile and visibility within Coty, with the Board and externally (investor community, media). Work streams are managed through a variety of monthly meetings, including Steering Committees with Coty’s C-level, as well as an overall AITW Steering Committee with our CEO. The Director Global Transformation would participate in many of these meetings.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
As the Director Global Transformation, you will be reporting into our Vice President Global Transformation and working closely together with various teams such as Supply, Procurement, Finance, R&D and Commercial to optimize our processes.
You will be investigating, analysing, and recommending solutions to the different teams to drive process, quality and cost improvements.
The Director Global Transformation is an excellent facilitator who will be training the teams and managing the projects ensuring timelines and savings goals are defined and met. You are strong in prioritizing and consulting our management teams. As an experienced project manager, you have a proven track record in a complex matrix organization such as Coty. You have the passion and ability to speak to all kinds of audiences and are skilled in challenging the status quo.
The immediate focus of the role will be to assess the current SG&A organization and processes and to run process improvement workshops and other business improvement initiatives on specific known areas of inefficiency, including:
Inefficient organization
Complicated processes (duplication of efforts, non-value-added process steps, etc.)
Inefficient processes and policies
Non-value-added meetings or reporting
Complex systems or lack of systems support (=manual execution)
Lack or resources or low performers, making execution difficult
Lack of alignment, common objectives, shared ownership
Beyond SG&A, there will also be an opportunity to contribute and lead improvement initiatives in Supply Chain and non-SG&A areas - in alignment with the functional owners.
KEY CHALLENGES OF THE JOB
Must be able to influence Business Leaders (including ECSLT members) whilst facilitating/leading transformational project across organizations and locations
Must navigate through multiple priorities of functional leaders, while still ensuring that project deliverables are met in quantity and quality
Must train the functional teams on transformational skills, and support the development of a culture of change management across and within the different teams
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
5+ years’ experience in a similar role managing global process improvement projects with a proven ability to manage complex questions.
Strong Commercial sense to ensure actionability of results and influencing successfully across locations.
High level of executive maturity and communication skills to interact and influence all levels of the business.
Strong problem-solving techniques; curious, team player and leader; attention to detail / good project management. You know how to translate complex data into a key take outs with your analytical mindset.
Strong communication (Verbal and written) and presentation ability. Ability to work across different levels in the organization and across different teams to ensure everyone is updated on key timelines and/or decisions
**Project management**: Organized, structured and always have an overview of all the deliverables. You know how to bring multiple projects to a successful ending within the given timeframe.
**Ability to drive clarity and Agility**: You don’t get easily stressed by a fluid environment, on the opposite, you get energized by the opportunity to drive clarity for the team, you are quick to adapt as new information becomes available.
