We are looking for a **Compliance Lawyer** to strengthen our Legal team and lead the development and implementation of a robust compliance program, reporting to our corporate lead counsel. This role will ensure Mistral AI adheres to anti-corruption laws, economic sanctions rules, and export control regulations, while aligning with our rapid growth and international ambitions.As part of this role you will advise the group (working hand-in-hand with other members of the MistralI legal team) on pragmatic and actionable compliance solutions, and lead their implementation, execution and adaptation, while continuously providing **legal and regulatory monitoring** on compliance developments (including anti-corruption, sanctions, export control), benchmarking industry best practices and proposing improvements.• **Minimum 6 years of experience** in compliance, ideally in a law firm, multinational company, or regulatory authority.• **Experience in the technology or AI sector** is a **plus** (understanding of data, semiconductors, or dual-use goods), as well as knowledge and understanding of artificial intelligence.• **Analytical and problem solving skills**: Candidates should be able to analyze complex topics and have strong problem-solving skills, and be able to dig into internal systems.• **Pedagogy:** Excellent written and verbal communication; strong ability to communicate legal advice to clients and colleagues, and presenting complex legal concepts in a clear and understandable manner.• **International mindset**: International experience is a plus.• **Adaptability:** Given the rapidly evolving nature of AI technologies and compute topics, and the legal landscape surrounding them, candidates should be adaptable and willing to continuously learn and update their skills and knowledge. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.• **Ethical Awareness:** Ability to promote an ethical and responsible culture.
