Overview Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets. Our platform, Ubuntu, is widely used in breakthrough enterprise initiatives such as public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. The company is a pioneer of global distributed collaboration, with 1,200+ colleagues in 75+ countries and very few office‑based roles. Teams meet two to four times yearly in person in interesting locations around the world to align on strategy and execution. We are expanding our sales and field engineering teams globally, including our sales development representative (SDR) teams. SDRs are typically outstanding graduates from STEM fields who want to start a sales career at Canonical. Role Summary We are hiring SDR Team Managers to run new inbound and outbound teams. Your primary objective will be to manage and mentor a successful team of 2‑10 SDRs/BDRs, develop outstanding sales professionals, and maintain a multi‑million dollar pipeline. You should be organized, persistent, analytical, hard‑working, and committed to continuous learning. Innovation and experimentation with new outbound approaches are expected. Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of 2‑10 SDRs/BDRs. Develop a strong sales culture and high‑integrity, high‑empathy team. Maintain a multi‑million dollar pipeline and drive outbound results. Use data to drive team activities and continuous improvement. Experiment with new outbound approaches to adapt to changes in the market. Support team members’ career growth into senior sales and alliance positions. Qualifications Excellent academic results at school and university. Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Business or STEM. Knowledge and passion for business development, sales, and technology. Track record of bringing exceptional outbound sales development results. Commitment to continuous learning and improvement—curious, flexible, scientific. Creative problem‑solving and cross‑team collaboration. Leadership experience in one form or another. Able to use data to drive team activities and continuous improvement. What We Offer Distributed work environment with twice‑yearly team sprints in person.
