The role & work environment:

Corporate Sector Lending is a key department within ING Wholesale Banking responsible for all bank lending related topics for our corporate clients. From our Paris team, we service French headquartered corporates with c. >€1bn revenues in a wide range of sectors on lending transactions booked in France as well as in ING’s global network. In close collaboration with other stakeholders such as the Sector Coverage, Capital Markets & Advisory, and Sustainable Finance departments, we strive to make the ING difference by applying Sector Expertise, being a Sustainability Pioneer, and combining Global Reach and Local Expertise. ING France has launched an ambitious growth plan to expand its corporate client base and therefore looks to strengthen its corporate lending capacity.

About the department:

Our Transaction Managers are responsible for:

  1. Advising our clients on all bank lending topics, including structuring and documentation, in cooperation with our Loan Syndications and Sustainable Finance teams.
  2. Negotiating loan documentation in collaboration with our Legal department.
  3. Preparing and presenting credit applications for both new transactions and reviews to the relevant commercial and credit risk committees.
  4. Analyzing the internal credit rating of our clients.
  5. Assuring compliance of all lending transactions with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

As Senior Transaction Manager, you work closely with Senior Bankers to originate lending transactions and secure their flawless execution. You are also responsible for monitoring your client portfolio throughout the lifecycle of the lending transactions. As such:

  1. You contribute to client meetings and marketing materials including presentations and financial models.
  2. You prepare credit applications and defend these for approval with credit risk management and decision makers.
  3. As part of the deal team, you will interact with our clients gathering relevant information on strategy, financial performance, industry trends and ESR topics.
  4. You acquire and maintain your knowledge on lending products, ING policies, as well as the external environment (i.e., relevant industry trends, financial markets, and the macro-economic environment).
  5. With support of our central service hub, you prepare rating proposals and defend these towards credit risk management.

Profile:

We are looking to strengthen our team with an enthusiastic team player with >7 years experience in the financial industry who brings:

  1. Experience with originating and executing lending transactions for investment grade and sub-investment grade rated corporate clients.
  2. Experience with negotiating and structuring transactions with complex documentation.
  3. Curious mindset and ambition to build sector expertise in collaboration with our Sector Coverage department.
  4. A team-player mindset, demonstrating an authentic enthusiasm for the banking profession.
  5. Ability to work rigorously and efficiently in demanding time schedules in a spirit of teamwork and a sense of customer service.
  6. A Master’s degree from a reputable university or business school specializing in Finance.
  7. Fluency in both French and English, verbally and in writing.
  8. Excellent writing skills and capacity to prepare concise analyses and recommendations on a variety of credit profiles across sectors, markets and geographies.
  9. Excellent quantitative skills allowing the preparation and maintenance of cash flow models in Excel combined with rigorous financial analyses.
