Director, Site Management & Monitoring – Pfizer Join Pfizer as a senior leader responsible for ensuring effective site management and monitoring across designated countries, clusters, and regions. The role partners with the Director of Clinical Site Operations and cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality, compliant clinical trials, while providing strategic guidance and risk management. Key Responsibilities Accountable for the availability and performance of site management & monitoring resources (Site Care Partner, Clinical Research Associate, Site Monitor) to meet study start‑up, management, and monitoring milestones. Provide line management, oversee day‑to‑day responsibilities, and coach allocated resources within assigned country/cluster/region. Partner with Study Start‑Up, Optimization, Analytics, and Recruitment Solutions functions to support site selection, IRB/EC approvals, and investigator recruitment. Lead strategic initiatives as a representative of GSSO Leadership, shaping the clinical development environment in designated areas (e.g., decentralized trial readiness, virtual monitoring, cycle‑time reduction). Align with Therapeutic Areas or centralized services (e.g., informed‑consent processing) as a point of contact for planning, quality events, and inspections. Analyze local/regional trends, develop mitigation options, and drive continuous improvement in trial conduct. Coordinate with FSP Managers and CRO partners; oversee FSP contract compliance, resource allocation, and performance metrics. Maintain proactive relationships with GSSO colleagues, external stakeholders (investigators, regulators, ethics committees), and local contract organizations. Champion GCP, ethics, regulatory processes, and investigator training; contribute to area and global GSSO strategies. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, Good Clinical Practice, and Pfizer standards for participant safety and study quality. Qualifications & Skills Education: BS/BSc or higher (or equivalent) with extensive clinical research experience; alternatively PhD/MD or equivalent. Experience: Minimum 10 years of clinical trial methodology expertise within a multinational pharmaceutical company or CRO, with a proven track record of delivering high‑quality trial conduct. Leadership: Demonstrated people‑management experience; ability to lead diverse teams, influence cross‑functional environments, and coach direct reports. Risk & Compliance: Adaptive risk‑management skills, continuous learning, and thorough understanding of GCP and Pfizer policies. Stakeholder Management: Ability to engage senior internal and external stakeholders, and to balance resource allocation across therapeutic areas. Travel: Availability to travel regionally and globally as required.
