Fullstack Software Engineer (x/f/m) - Ops AI Platform Join to apply for the Fullstack Software Engineer (x/f/m) - Ops AI Platform role at Alan. Overview Alan's vision is to make prevention the new norm of care for all. Our mission is to help people live in good health to 100 while helping employers feel proud, turning health benefits from a cost centre into their most valuable investment. We’re building a vertically integrated health partner that seamlessly unites insurance and smart healthcare delivery into one system. By connecting all aspects of care—private, public, and direct to consumer—we create the most member‑centric healthcare experience. Through deep engagement, we empower everyone to overcome day‑to‑day health obstacles and live healthier lives. We partner with 35 K+ companies and serve more than 1 M users, reaching 770 M+ in ARR. Our team of 700+ people (still growing) operates across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada. About us People joining Alan are always surprised and delighted by our innovative working method. We have a set of cultural values that guide our approach to work, such as: Mission is the Boss: long‑term thinking, mission above all else Member & customer‑led: obsessed with solving problems and delighting users Champions of excellence: extremely high standards and talent density Distributed ownership: everyone owns their decisions and results Radically transparent: all information accessible, written‑first, async decisions Optimistic alchemy: optimists who collaborate with genuine care Empathetic challengers: direct, caring feedback to help each other grow Bold contrarians: think differently, try new approaches Disciplined execution: decisive action with compounding focus Fight for simplicity: high‑impact processes, smart frugality Ops AI Platform team We’re building something that doesn’t exist yet. Imagine a platform where AI agents autonomously handle operational work – connected to every internal and external tool, trained by operators themselves, running safely at scale. No engineers needed. No bottlenecks. Just agents that work. That’s what we’re building. The Ops AI Platform will let our Ops team create, evolve, and monitor their own AI agents to automate thousands of tedious tasks. We aim to crack problems no one has solved at this scale. The project just launched, and you’d join at ground zero, shaping the architecture, product, and entire foundation. Skills Integrate agents at the heart of internal tools – UIs where Ops monitor and take action on concrete business situations, with context‑aware chat modals allowing users to review agents’ reasoning, actions, and provide follow‑up instructions. Empower non‑technical users to become autonomous in creating and maintaining agents at scale. Build a complete set of tools for AI agents – connecting to internal and external capabilities, including internal business data, external servers, and web dashboards without API. Safety and accuracy at the core – robust testing, stateful evaluation, progressive rollout, human‑in‑the‑loop validation, fine‑grained permissions and limits. In 6‑12 months, we plan to increase our scope by owning the AI platform that will power all agentic use cases at Alan – creating economies of scale through shared infrastructure and tooling. Roles & Responsibilities You’ll work at the frontier of LLMs, tool calling, human‑in‑the‑loop, internal tools UX, multi‑agent architectures, and see your work deployed in production, used by our ops team. You’ll implement new capabilities for AI agents and tooling to make ops autonomous. You’ll work on scaling our system from a few dozen to tens of thousands of tasks automated daily. You’ll have significant influence on system architecture and code quality. You’ll mentor engineers, contribute to our product & engineering culture, and help build the team (including hiring). Qualifications 3+ years of product engineering experience, excited about building state‑of‑the‑art AI systems. Strong background in full‑stack software engineering and systems architecture, with a spike in back‑end engineering. Experience with traditional ML, LLMs, or ML dev‑ops is a big plus. Product‑minded: solutions should be used and impactful. Self‑directed, pragmatic, humble, collaborative, and eager to grow. Fluent in English; French not required. Perks & Benefits Fair rewards – generous equity packages complement base salary. Flexible office – HQ space, sponsored co‑working hubs, or full‑remote with home office equipment sponsorship. All the tools you need – top‑of‑range equipment such as MacBook Pro, keyboard, laptop stand, monitor, noise‑canceling headphones. Flexible vacation policy and working hours. Delightful healthcare insurance – 100% for you and your children, 90‑100% for partners depending on country (permanent contracts only). Transport – country‑specific commuter benefits. Learning & training opportunities – free books and budget for conferences. Personal growth through coaching – each employee paired with a dedicated coach from day one. Parental leave – extended parental leave for all new parents. Important note We hire people, not roles. If you’re excited about this opportunity but don’t check every box, we’d love to hear from you. Everyone, no matter how underrepresented, should feel free to apply as it can only bring learnings or success. If you identify yourself as a woman: research shows women often apply only when meeting 100% of requirements. Remember, this is just a guide, not a checklist. We’ll be thrilled to receive your application Next steps Check out our About Alan and Career pages, as well as our Medium blog and Glassdoor page for more info.
