Work at IXO
Apply your experience in research-level mathematics to paid work at IXO. You will develop realistic evaluation examples and review AI responses for technical correctness, clear reasoning and practical usefulness. The work calls for explanations that identify the actual defect or trade-off and show how a better answer would address it.
Responsibilities
- Develop rigorous problems and explanations across algebra, topology, number theory and mathematical foundations.
- Review proofs involving groups, rings, fields, metric spaces, compactness, fundamental groups or elliptic curves as appropriate to your expertise.
- Assess multistep arguments and proposed conjectures, identifying the exact point where an inference or foundation fails.
- Record the assumptions, supporting evidence and corrections needed for another specialist to follow your review.
Experience and expertise
- PhD in Mathematics from a top-tier institution.
- Specialized expertise in at least two of the following: abstract algebra, topology, number theory, mathematical logic, or category theory.
- Extensive experience with rigorous mathematical proof construction and formal argumentation.
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed mathematics journals is valued.
- Ability to communicate highly abstract mathematical concepts with clarity and precision.
- Proficiency with LaTeX for mathematical typesetting.
Working arrangements and pay
Remote work in these eligible locations: USA, Germany, UK, Australia. Planning availability: Flexible, assignment-based, estimated 15-30 hours/week. IXO will confirm the actual start and schedule before acceptance. Compensation is $78/hr USD. The agreed rate, delivery requirements and review criteria are confirmed before work begins.
