Job Description Summary

JOB PURPOSE

Based on activities assigned by his/her hierarchy, the painter prepares and paints materials, equipment or accessories. He/she maintains his/her workstation (paint booth, etc.).

SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES

  • Identify the nature of a surface treatment
  • Prepare the work and treat the surface (stripping, puttying, sanding, polishing, protection, dent removal, etc.)
  • Prepare product (quantity, shade, etc.)
  • Set up and adjust paint booth and application equipment
  • Carry out painting, varnishing, coating or lacquering of surfaces and finishing touches (stickers, etc.) on the basis of the painting plan
  • Check paint conformity and carry out touch-ups or finishing touches
  • Contribute to the management of supplies (orders, deliveries, etc.)
  • Complete the various business documents and tools relating to operations (reports, hours worked, logbooks, etc.)
  • Report daily on activities to line management (alerts, tasks carried out, etc.)

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE FOR ACTION

  • Guarantees the quality and timeliness of painting operations
  • Ensures the conformity of the workstation and tools provided
  • Adheres to standard times
  • Know and strictly apply health and safety rules (personal protective equipment, procedures, etc.)
  • Know and strictly apply environmental rules (sorting, anti-contamination, etc.)
  • Know and apply internal and external compliance procedures and rules

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE

DIPLOMA(S) AND/OR EXPERIENCE(S)

CAP to vocational baccalaureate level in bodywork or industrial painting preferred and/or significant experience preferred

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE(S)

Technical skill(s) - Professional knowledge of paint (compositions, hygrometry, dosage, products, etc.) - General knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations - Basic knowledge of IT tools and information systems
