AI & Audio Quality Engineer (F/M) – EssilorLuxotticaLocation: Sophia Antipolis, France. This role involves developing and maintaining audio‑quality evaluation pipelines for smart eyewear products to improve inclusion for hearing loss patients. Your Role Senior Audio Quality Engineer responsible for creating objective and subjective evaluation methods, conducting listening tests, analysing results, and recommending improvements to audio processing algorithms. Main Responsibilities Setup and maintain the Acoustic Lab for measurements. Research, define and implement objective and subjective evaluation methodologies for audio processing algorithms. Conduct in‑person and remote listening tests and perceptual evaluations for noise reduction, speech enhancement, beamforming, etc. Analyse test data to provide actionable algorithmic recommendations and present conclusions to guide development. Stay updated on advances in audio quality standards, psychoacoustics, and testing methodologies. Main Requirements Master’s or PhD in Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Psychoacoustics, or related field. 5+ years of experience in audio quality evaluation or signal processing. Strong familiarity with objective and subjective audio evaluation standards in hearing aid and consumer audio industries. Expertise in psychoacoustic testing methods and tools. Experience in quality assurance testing for audio technologies. Systemic understanding of DSP and AI techniques relevant to hearing aids or speech enhancement. Bonus: Familiarity with audiology, hearing aid tuning, phonetics and speech perception. Bonus: Familiarity with AI/ML models for audio applications. Bonus: Familiarity with assistive hearing processing blocks (beamforming, noise reduction, feedback management, compression).
