If you’re passionate about medical education and supporting students as they transition into medical school, we invite you to be part of a collaborative, student-centered academic community.This position will serve a dual role of supporting delivery of the MedOrigin course, a 10-credit course designed to provide incoming medical students with curated foundational knowledge, practical skills, and strategies necessary for success in medical school prior to the start of their first semester, and Biochemistry instruction in the standard MD Program curriculum, particularly with remediation support as needed.What You’ll DoDeliver engaging lectures and active learning sessions in Biochemistry and foundational medical sciences.Prepare course materials including handouts, practice questions, and digital resources.Facilitate small group learning and individualized remediation plans for students needing academic support.Collaborate with the Academy for Teaching and Learning to align remediation with curricular goals.Advise students on academic matters and refer them to appropriate support services.Write and review NBME-style questions for practice and assessments.Prepare and evaluate examinations to measure student progress.Continuously improve instructional materials and teaching techniques.Participate in curriculum review and development with departmental colleagues.Engage in professional development to enhance teaching and subject expertise.Serve on faculty committees and contribute to university initiatives.Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all institutional policies and standards.Who We’re Looking ForWe’re seeking dynamic, adaptive educators who:Are comfortable teaching in diverse formats (e.g., small groups, digital content, video).Embrace technology and innovative teaching methods.Are committed to student success and academic excellence.Thrive in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.QualificationsWhat You BringAPhD, MD, or equivalentwith a specialization inBiochemistry(required)1-3 years of teaching experiencein a medical school setting (required)Familiarity withUSMLE contentand exam preparation (preferred)A strong interest inmedical educationand a commitment tocontinuous growthExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsA flexible, team-oriented mindset and a passion forstudent successProven teaching ability in relevant subject areas is a plusWillingness and ability torelocate to Sint MaartenAdditional InformationJoin us in a vibrant academic community where your expertise will make a lasting impact.
