About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Sustainability Consultant with deep expertise in climate strategy to join a fast-growing, innovative sustainability consultancy expanding its presence in the French market. This is a senior leadership role offering significant opportunities for career growth, business development, and team management. You will work closely with C-suite executives and senior stakeholders across diverse industries to help them navigate the evolving ESG landscape, develop robust climate action plans, and embed sustainability into their core business strategies. Your expertise will be pivotal in advancing corporate net zero ambitions, climate risk assessments, and compliance with emerging regulatory frameworks such as CSRD and ISSB. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end delivery of complex sustainability projects focusing on Net Zero strategies, climate risk assessments, carbon accounting, and ESG disclosures aligned with major frameworks (CSRD, ISSB, CDP, GRI, TCFD). Drive the development and implementation of sustainability action plans that help clients reduce their carbon footprint and enhance ESG performance. Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on scope, on budget, and with high quality. Mentor and lead a growing team of consultants, fostering skill development, accountability, and collaboration. Support business growth by identifying new opportunities, contributing to proposal development, and strengthening client relationships. Analyze and interpret sustainability data, develop KPIs, and leverage digital ESG platforms to optimize data collection and reporting processes. Stay abreast of evolving sustainability regulations, standards, and market trends, providing strategic advice to clients and contributing to product innovation. Required Skills & Experience Minimum 5+ years’ experience in sustainability consulting, ESG advisory, or climate strategy within fast-paced, client-focused environments. Demonstrated expertise in GHG emissions accounting, science-based target setting (SBTi), and climate-related risk assessment (physical and transition risks). Deep understanding of non-financial reporting standards and frameworks including CSRD, ISSB, CDP, GRI, TCFD, SASB. Proven ability to manage and deliver multiple complex projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and project management skills. Strong analytical skills with experience handling and interpreting ESG data, including advanced Excel proficiency and familiarity with ESG data management platforms. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in both French and English (CEFR C2 level), with the ability to influence senior decision-makers. Leadership experience in managing teams, including mentoring junior consultants, overseeing quality assurance, and driving performance management. A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a passion for sustainability and continuous learning. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Environmental Science, Sustainable Finance, Business Engineering, or related fields. Professional certifications in ESG, climate science, or sustainability risk management. Experience working with private equity clients on ESG due diligence and investment-related sustainability strategy.
