Product Costing Leader

Job Description Summary Reporting hierarchically to the EU Costing leader, the Product Costing Specialist assesses, defines and budgets the electrical and mechanical equipment of a Hydro Power Plant tender to maximize the competitiveness of the offer while ensuring the feasibility of the project execution. As a key player in the tender team, he/she is in charge of defining the most optimized costs of the equipment under his/her responsibility, fully aligned with technical, customer and internal requirements. As costing integrator, he/she is leading the consolidation of the full tender costs and guarantees their solidity and competitivity --- Rattaché hiérarchiquement au responsable du chiffrage EU, le Spécialiste du chiffrage produit évalue, définit et budgétise les équipements électriques et mécaniques pour les appels d'offres de centrales hydroélectriques, afin de maximiser la compétitivité de l'offre tout en garantissant la faisabilité de l'exécution du projet. Acteur clé de l'équipe d'appel d'offres, il/elle est chargé(e) de définir les coûts les plus optimisés pour les équipements sous sa responsabilité, en totale adéquation avec les exigences techniques des clients et internes. En tant qu'intégrateur des coûts, il/elle pilote la consolidation de l'ensemble des coûts de l'appel d'offres et garantit leur fiabilité et leur compétitivité.

Job Description Essential Responsibilities

• Coordinate the activities related to the project costs for refurbished and new Hydro Power Plant.
• Guarantee that the costs (equipment, tools, spare parts, refurbishment works) are compliant with the client’s requirements and the GE guidelines, and aligned with target.
• Read and understand the customer specifications and the technical data provided by the technical team and ensure that the costs are aligned with these specifications.
• Consolidate and optimize the full tender costs (equipment, engineering, project management, shipment, construction and commissioning, erection).
• Define the industrial scheme in accordance with the internal Make or Buy Policy, the customer constraints (Restrictions, Standards, Financing rules,…).
• Organize and lead the meetings to challenge the different stakeholders (Technical Team, Supply Chain, ….) in order to optimize the costs, risks and schedule.
• Be able to give the preliminary costs even with uncomplete assumptions.
• Participate to the internal approval review of the bid.
• Make continuous improvement proposals to simplify the internal tendering process, improve the performance of our bids.
• Transfer the tender costs to the execution team in the proper leadtime.
• Maintain strong interfaces with Technical Tendering (product definition), Internal Trade Unit, CommOps, Sourcing, Planning.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university in an Engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, …) and/or equivalent.
• Have 10 to 15 years knowledge/experience, preferably on a mechanical equipment related to energy management.
• Fluent in the English and in a third EU Language (French & German & Spanish) would be a plus.

• Understanding of the construction aspects of projects and the associated constraints and risks.

• Ability to develop relationships with a wide range of people, from commercial team, internal partners, experts, consulting engineers…

• Ability to perform in a time constrained environment with incomplete data.
• Proficient in office software (Word, Excel, Power point, MS Project).

• Detail oriented, but always seeing the big picture.
