Context
We’re hiring a junior data engineer, with a start date planned for January 2027, to support our data engineer and take ownership of our entire existing data stack, helping us structure and grow this function.
Our tech stack:
TypeScript, Bun.js, Supabase, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Python, PySpark, Databricks, Snowflake, S3, Metabase, and Claude Code.
Mission
Progressively take ownership of our existing data platform, becoming autonomous on topics currently handled by our data engineer and our QA.
Automate and industrialize data pipelines (ingestion, transformation) to reduce manual work and ensure reliable delivery.
Work with the product team to answer business queries, turning business questions into reliable data answers.
Build and document an end-to-end data quality control pipeline, giving the team a reliable, up-to-date view of production data.
Be proactive on cross-functional projects and/or data science topics (classification, internal use cases), depending on your interests and appetite to grow the scope of the role.
Hard Skills
At least 1 year of experience as a data engineer, ideally in a production environment with reliability and scaling challenges. You’ve already designed or evolved ingestion and transformation pipelines, and you’re comfortable navigating a modern data stack. Strong command of SQL, with the ability to write and optimize complex queries on large data volumes, with a focus on performance and reliability of analytical processing. Solid Python practice for building robust data processing pipelines, from raw collection through to delivery to business teams.
Soft Skills
Conversational English required. We have several English-speaking team members. Curiosity along with strong written and verbal communication. Comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment.
