The Information Technology Department seeks to implement innovative and cost-effective systems that

IT Department, the Information Security team handles governance, risk management, and crisis management, covering the full

range of information security tasks.

Your role

As a Junior IT Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in the implementation and management of information security

tools within our organisation. Your responsibilities will include a combination of technical tasks, incident management, and

security monitoring, contributing to the protection and resilience of our information systems. This position offers a unique

opportunity to develop your skills in information security while participating in impactful projects. This role is ideal for a recent

graduate or early-career professional with a strong background in information security, computer science, and incident

management.

You will perform the following duties:

assisting in the configuration, and maintenance of information security tools to ensure data and system protection;

assisting in the supervision and management of the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems,
ensuring continuous monitoring to detect and respond to security incidents;

analysing security alerts, investigating incidents, and collaborating with relevant teams to resolve them quickly and
effectively;

providing expertise to evaluate and implement improvements and new security tools in ongoing projects;

assisting in the management and resolution of security requests (approximately 300 per year) and maintaining regular
contact with users to ensure optimal security; supervising the adherence to the "six-eyes principle";

assisting in the monitoring of emerging attack techniques and new security vulnerabilities to anticipate and prevent
potential threats.

What we are looking for

You must:

have a higher education degree or qualification equivalent to a master’s degree (2nd cycle of the Bologna process
framework of qualifications for the European Higher Education Area) in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science,
or a related field;

have a maximum of two years of relevant professional experience in Information Security;

have a knowledge of information security tools and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems;

have a good knowledge of one of the two official languages of the

be a citizen of one of the member States of the
service of that State;

have discharged any obligation concerning national service (military, civil or comparable);

not be the parent, child, stepchild or grandchild of a serving staff member of the

Professional and technical expertise:

  • basic knowledge of information security methodologies and practical experience in the field;
  • familiarity with SIEM technology, particularly ELK;
  • understanding of information security norms such as ISO27000 and EBIOS;
  • basic knowledge of web technology, desktop environments, software, and networks;
  • fundamental IT knowledge, including applications and programming languages used in information security
(e.g., Python, JSON, Rapid7, ELK, Varonis).

What we offer

If successful, you may be offered employment based on renewable fixed-term contracts for a maximum cumulated

duration of four years at grade B3. In Strasbourg, you will receive a basic monthly gross salary of € 4 107 which is exempt

from national income tax. Different salary scales are applied at our external offices according to the cost-of-living conditions.

This salary may be supplemented by other allowances depending on your personal situation. You will benefit from the Council

of Europe pension scheme, and also from private medical insurance, annual leave, and other benefits (including flexible working

hours, training and development, possibility of teleworking, etc.).

This competition is carried out in accordance with Article 4100 of the Staff Rules. People recruited under this article are not

eligible for any subsequent internal competition or secondment, nor shall they be re-appointed under a same Programme or

appointed under the Turnover Workforce Scheme; they can nevertheless apply to external recruitment competitions carried out
