As a Barclays Financial Control Assistant Vice President (AVP), you will be a key member of the Barclays Europe Financial Control team, responsible for delivering accurate and compliant financial and regulatory reporting across multiple frameworks, including IFRS and French GAAP. In this role, you will oversee the integrity of balance sheet and P&L positions, maintain a robust month‑end control environment, support tax‑related deliverables, and ensure timely completion of statutory and group reporting obligations. You will also contribute to French regulatory submissions, manage external audit processes, and collaborate with colleagues across Europe and India to uphold stringent reporting standards and deadlines. Location Paris office. Key Responsibilities Prepare and present accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with IFRS and French GAAP. Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks; report on these risks to senior colleagues. Develop and maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data accuracy. Develop and implement up‑to‑date financial policies and procedures across the organisation. Collaborate with IT to select, implement, and integrate financial systems and enterprise applications. Prepare and submit statutory and regulatory reports; support other departments in their preparation and review. Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities to support audits and examinations. Qualifications Professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA, CA, DSCG, DEC, etc.) and experience with French GAAP and IFRS accounting. Fluency in French and English with excellent written and oral business communication skills. Extensive experience in a finance function of a financial institution or auditing financial services companies. Strong data skills: large volumes of data via MS Excel, VBA, etc.; ability to work flexibly in a fast‑changing environment. Prior experience with external statutory financial reporting and change projects is highly valued.
