Post‑doctoral fellow on ID01 in “picosecond full field diffraction imaging of electronic devices” ESRF – The European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) invites a motivated postdoctoral fellow to join beamline ID01, a world‑leading facility for micro‑ and nano‑beam diffraction imaging experiments. The candidate will conduct cutting‑edge research in time‑resolved full‑field diffraction microscopy, collaborate with a network of German universities and research organisations, and lead technical developments for the beamline instrumentation. Responsibilities Develop and execute your own research project in full‑field diffraction imaging, in consultation with your supervisor. Drive technical developments and continual upgrades of the beamline instrumentation. Collaborate with international experts and the multidisciplinary ID01 team. Present and publish research findings in conferences, workshops, and peer‑reviewed journals. Qualifications PhD in a STEM field and several years of postdoctoral experience in physics, chemistry, or a closely related field. Experience with X‑ray diffraction, X‑ray optics, or related experimental techniques. Background in scientific programming and experimental research, especially scattering/diffraction. Ambition to lead research projects and collaborate within a large‑scale user facility. Excellent communication skills, fluency in English. Working Conditions Contract: 18 months, renewable for an additional 6 to 18 months. Salary and benefits in accordance with ESRF terms.
