Since 2012, Khazna has become the leading wholesale data center provider in the Middle East and North Africa, delivering reliable and scalable infrastructure to support the region’s growing digital ecosystem.
We are seeking a Senior Financial Controller to lead for the region-based joint venture and is accountable for ensuring that all finance, accounting, tax, statutory and management reporting obligations are delivered accurately, completely and on time. The role will operate in a start-up environment with two shareholders, one based in the region, and one based in the UAE, and will provide the financial control, governance and reporting discipline required to support a newly established JV.
The Senior Financial Controller will therefore act as the accountable owner of the finance operating model, ensuring effective oversight of the service provider, robust controls, clear service levels, timely close and reporting, compliance with regional statutory and tax requirements, and alignment with shareholder reporting expectations. The role will also design a scalable finance model that can support potential insourcing of accounting operations over the medium term, expected to be within approximately three years.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Own monthly, quarterly and annual financial close, management reporting and shareholder reporting.
- Oversee IFRS and French GAAP/statutory accounting, financial statements, audits and regulatory submissions.
- Lead financial controls, tax, VAT, compliance, reconciliations and risk management.
- Manage and govern outsourced accounting providers, ensuring quality, SLAs, close timelines and clear process ownership.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, working capital and financial performance analysis.
- Provide technical finance input on funding, capex, intercompany transactions, contracts and material accounting judgments.
- Establish robust finance policies, procedures, approval controls, segregation of duties and governance frameworks.
- Drive ERP, automation, reporting and process improvements to support a growing JV.
- Coordinate finance requirements across the region, UAE shareholders, Board, management, auditors, tax advisors and other stakeholders.
- Develop the roadmap for the potential transition from outsourced finance operations to an in-house finance function.
- Build a scalable finance function focused on accuracy, compliance, transparency, accountability and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:
- 10–15+ years of progressive accounting, controllership, statutory reporting and financial governance experience.
- Minimum 5–7 years in a senior controllership, finance manager or head‑of‑finance role with clear accountability for close, reporting, controls and audit outcomes.
- Experience in region or comparable statutory, tax and regulatory environments is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing outsourced accounting providers, shared service centres or external finance service models.
- Strong IFRS, statutory reporting, tax compliance, audit and internal control experience.
- Experience in start-up, project company, infrastructure, data centre, real estate, energy, technology or capital-intensive environments is desirable.
- Experience supporting joint ventures, shareholder reporting, cross-border governance or international expansion is desirable.
- IFRS, French statutory reporting and technical accounting expertise.
- Corporate tax, VAT, audit readiness and regulatory compliance awareness.
