The Infrastructure Team builds and maintains the foundation for these systems—providing tooling, automation, expertise, and implementation for core cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability. We’re looking for an Infrastructure Engineering Team Lead to guide a team supporting Airship's cloud infrastructure, build processes, and monitoring systems. You’ll provide technical leadership for two engineers based in France, with potential for the team to grow over time. This role reports to the Director of Infrastructure, who is based in the United States. This is a hands‑on technical leadership role; you’ll drive project execution, provide technical guidance to teammates, and ensure our cloud environment scales with Airship and our customers.What You’ll DoProvide technical leadership and guidance to infrastructure engineersAnticipate, plan, and execute infrastructure projects aligned with company and customer needsCollaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, product, and security teamsSupport broader company initiatives as needed beyond the immediate team scopeMaintain and improve cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud PlatformDrive improvements in CI/CD pipelines, observability, and automationEvaluate and implement emerging infrastructure tools and practicesSupport company initiatives around cost optimization, security, disaster recovery, and complianceRespond to and manage critical incidents effectivelyWhat We’re Looking For5+ years in backend or infrastructure engineering rolesExperience providing technical leadership or mentorshipStrong project management skills—able to drive initiatives from planning to deliveryExcellent communication skills in English (required for collaboration with US‑based leadership)Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS acceptable)Experience experimenting with AI tools in your personal or professional life—or an eagerness to learnWe’d Be Delighted If You Also HaveHands‑on experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code toolsFamiliarity with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)Experience with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Spinnaker)Background in Python, Go, Java, or equivalent for automation and toolingKnowledge of security best practices, networking fundamentals, and incident managementWork Location & Travel RequirementsAirship’s ‘Digital First’ approach to work means that for the majority of our roles, work can be performed remotely, either some or most of the time. This position is fully remote and may require up to 10% travel based on business needs or as requested by your manager.CompensationThe starting base pay range for this position is: €85,000 - €105,000 EUR per year. Base pay is part of the total compensation package and is determined by a variety of factors such as relevant skills, work experience, business priorities, market demands, and location.
