OverviewExecutive Director - Corporates Rating at Scope Ratings is a senior leadership role for someone with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities. The position will be based in Frankfurt, Paris or Madrid. You will participate in and lead in full autonomy credit rating committees for the assignment and monitoring of corporate ratings. You will analyse complex non-financial corporates, develop and maintain credit rating methodologies and write insightful credit research. You will have the opportunity to lead operational review visits and take part in meetings with investors, issuers and arrangers. You will chair rating committees and approve rating actions. The role includes leadership for a small team of analysts.ResponsibilitiesPerform analysis and conduct credit research on a diversified portfolio of Corporate credits on a broad range of high yield and Investment Grade Corporates.Monitor existing ratings and if necessary, recommend reviews and changes on a timely basisPresent to and participate in rating committeesAct as communication point-of-contact between Scope Ratings and customers and interact with senior executives (CFOs, CEOs, Treasurers, Investor Relations) and mediaConduct discussions with clients and investors, as well as giving presentations, explanations and briefings at a highly professional levelProduce high-quality, insightful and forward-looking research and analytical comments on a timely basisChair rating committees and approve rating actionsManage a small team of analystsManage the team ensuring steering of ratings production, process execution and analytical activitiesContribute actively to the development of the rating franchiseDevelop and maintain credit rating methodologiesEngage in investor, issuer and arranger outreach, presenting and explaining Scope's analytical approachWork closely with other Corporates team members, staff and management in Scope Ratings15+ years of relevant experience in the financial industry (e.g. a large rating agency, an investment fund or investment bank), that reflects analytical and quantitative skills with a solid understanding of non-financial corporates. Experience in analysing high-yield issuers with complex financial structures is a plusHigh familiarity and relevant experience with European financial marketsMaster's degree in finance, banking, economics, statistics, mathematics, or equivalent qualification, CFA charter is a plusWillingness to take responsibility with an entrepreneurial attitude. Accountable and reliable person of the highest integrity.Leadership qualities and proven track-record to act as a role modelProven record of conducting and writing thought-leading insightful researchStrong team player, confident and professional appearance and high social and communication skillsMulti-cultural, collaborative, self-starter, versatile, inquisitive and detail-oriented personalityAbility to meet deadlines and motivate others to do the sameAble and ready to travelFlexibility in accepting tasks and duties and carrying them out as directedExtensive sector knowledge is a plusProficient written and oral communication skills in English is a must.
