Main Responsibilities Ethiopia EPR: Contribute to the Energy Policy Review of Ethiopia project. The Coordinator will co-author the report, collaborate on drafting chapters and draft the Executive Summary, engage with the Ethiopian government and other stakeholders, lead on compiling the chapters, and continue to produce other deliverables, including presentations and logistical preparations for the report launch in 2026. Organisation of activities under relevant work programmes: physical events in Paris and SSA, remote engagement, qualitative and quantitative analytical work, deliverables production, liaison with counterparts in partner countries, research on SSA energy sector, collaboration with other IEA teams, and flexibility to contribute to SSA desk and GER activities as needed. Coordination efforts with partner countries: assist the programme officer in delivering new planned activities for Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and the African Union. IEA High Level events: contribute to preparation of high‑level events, mobilisation and facilitation of African participation, production and distribution of invitations and follow‑up documents, and preparation of briefs for the Executive Office. Communication: draft letters on behalf of the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director to African counterparts, produce a quarterly external newsletter, and provide social media coverage of IEA Africa activities. Qualifications Academic Background: A university degree(s) in a relevant discipline (e.g., economics, energy policy, environment, international relations, African studies, or related field would be ideal). Professional Background: At least 1–3 years experience, including internships, on energy and climate policy topics focusing on Sub‑Saharan African countries; experience in research and analysis; drafting policy or reviews; experience working with Sub‑Saharan African governments and interacting with key stakeholders across the region. Core Competencies: OECD staff are expected to demonstrate behaviours aligned to six core competencies: Vision and Strategy (Level 1); Enable People (Level 1); Ethics and Integrity (Level 1); Collaboration and Horizontality (Level 1); Achieve Results (Level 1); Innovate and Embrace Change (Level 1). Refer to OECD Core Competencies for definitions. Languages: Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English or French) and knowledge of or willingness to learn the other. Contract Duration: 6‑month temporary contract; ideal start date: January 2026. Salary Information: Monthly gross salary starts from 3 150 EUR.
