Position SummaryCanonical seeks a Revenue Accounting Manager with deep expertise in IFRS 15/ASC 606 to drive revenue recognition, automation, and reporting. This management role spans finance, product, legal, sales, and technical teams, supporting our global operations.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with Product Management, Sales Operations, Legal, and FP&A to design standard contractsDrive process and configuration improvements in NetSuite and related systems for end-to-end automation of the revenue life cycleIncorporate industry best practices and emerging technology to enhance reporting speed and accuracyReview and assess revenue recognition impact of non-standard contracts and new productsLead, mentor and develop a team of revenue and systems accounting professionalsAssist in month-end revenue close, including reconciliations, fluctuation analysis and other reportingDevelop and maintain effective internal controls over revenue transactions and reportingResearch and produce accounting memos on key revenue recognition and policy mattersAct as primary liaison with external auditors on order-to-cash mattersValued Skills and ExperienceUndergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA, CA or equivalent optional)Excellent technical accounting skills with strong IFRS 15 knowledge, especially SaaS and servicesHands‑on experience with software licensing, subscription, and services revenueExperience scaling revenue recognition processes in high-growth environmentsProficiency with NetSuite, Salesforce, CPQ, CRM, ERP, and RevRec tools (preferred)Ability to manage multi-country, multi-currency operations and tax considerationsStrong written and spoken English; excellent interpersonal and communication skillsLeadership/management responsibility with a track record of exceeding expectationsWork ethic that reflects curiosity, accountability, and personal initiativeTravel up to twice a year for company eventsAdditional Optional Skills We ValuePublic company reporting and revenue accounting experienceSoftware implementation, integration and user acceptance experienceSoftware engineering qualification or experienceMBA or other relevant business degreeBenefitsDistributed work environment with bi-annual team sprints in personPersonal learning and development budget of US$ 2,000 per yearAnnual compensation review and performance-based bonus or commissionRecognition rewards and annual holiday leaveMaternity and paternity leaveTeam Member Assistance Program & Wellness PlatformOpportunity to travel to new locations and connect with colleaguesPriority Pass and travel upgrades for long-haul company eventsLocationHome-based in EMEA time zones with the option to be based in London; reports to the Global Head of Accounting.About CanonicalCanonical is a pioneering tech firm at the forefront of open source.
