Position Overview We’re looking for an experienced Field Application Engineer – based in Italy or France – to join our team. If you are passionate about computer vision, machine learning, and embedded systems, and thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment, this is your opportunity to make a real impact. In this role, you’ll be the technical point of contact for customers in your region, helping them evaluate, adopt, and deploy our Metis AI Platform across a range of applications. Working closely with our R&D teams, you’ll guide customers through hands‑on integration using our Voyager SDK, supporting deployment of AI models and pipelines on Axelera AI hardware (PCIe boards, modules, and vision gateways). Key Responsibilities Engage with customers to understand their needs, serving as a trusted technical expert on Axelera AI’s platform. Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with R&D to deliver timely solutions. Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development on product launches and technology evangelism. Support Sales in expanding accounts, identifying new opportunities, and securing design wins. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and follow‑ups. Communicate customer insights and feedback to Product Management to guide improvements. Conduct competitive analysis through customer and industry intelligence. Contribute to clear, high‑quality product documentation and training materials. Advocate for customer needs internally and help enhance product performance and usability. Support trade shows by ensuring all technical demos run smoothly, addressing product‑related questions, and assisting the sales team with in‑depth technical discussions. Qualifications BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience. 3+ years of experience in the semiconductor and/or AI industry in a customer‑facing technical role. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and business stakeholders. Fluency in English and Italian and/or French. Proficiency in Python, C/C++, OpenCL, or CUDA. Hands‑on experience with PyTorch. Solid understanding of embedded systems and experience with embedded hardware. Excellent presentation and problem‑solving skills. Self‑motivated, proactive, and adaptable to a fast‑paced, innovative environment. Willingness to travel within the region (30%+). Good project management skills are a plus. Location This position is based in Italy or France. Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to one of these countries, with fluency in the local language required. You’ll work remotely or in a hybrid mode from our Florence, Milan or Paris office, collaborating closely with colleagues across Europe, US and Asia.
