Postdoctoral researcher in molecular biology and neurobiology Type of recruitment: Fixed-term contract position Job level: A - Researcher Contract duration: 1 February 2026 to 31 January 2029 Presentation of the organisationGIN brings together teams in Grenoble specialising in the study of physiological and pathological processes of the nervous system and the development of innovative techniques to explore and treat them. Located on the Grenoble health campus next to the University Hospital, GIN houses around 250 researchers, teacher‑researchers, clinicians, engineers, technicians and students in a dedicated building. The postdoctoral researcher will join the translational regulation team working on normal and pathological conditions.For more information: https://neurosciences.univ-grenoble-alpes.fr/fr/l-institut/ Main responsibilitiesYou will join the translational regulation under normal and pathological conditions team led by Stéphane Belin and composed of two PhD students and a technician. The team works closely with the teams of Homaira Nawabi (GIN) and Sabine Chierici (DCM), who will also participate in the project.You will be responsible for managing the project under the supervision of Stéphane Belin and carry out experiments related to the project described in the ANR project and adapt the experimental approach according to the results. You will supervise the technical staff and the various students in the laboratory involved in the project (Bachelor's, Master's 1 and 2, PhD students). Main activities Conduct experiments related to the project. Analyse the results. Propose new experiments based on the progress of the project. Keep the laboratory notebook up to date. Communicate with team members and collaborators on the progress of the project. Format the results for presentations, posters and articles. Specific features of the position As the project relies on animal models, those involved in the project may be asked to come in on weekends or outside normal working hours depending on the needs of the animals and the experiments. Supervisory duties Category A staff supervised: N/A Category B staff supervised: 1 Category C staff supervised: 1 Required skills Implement cellular and molecular biology techniques (immunofluorescence, Western blot, microscopy) Handling of mouse models of eye disease Surgery on animals (mice) Use of activity‑specific software for image analysis Design of experimental devices Drafting scientific documents Analytical reasoning skills Organisational skills Autonomy and rigour Good interpersonal skills with colleagues and management Desired training, qualifications and experience: PhD + training in animal experimentation Remuneration: From £2,900 gross per month, depending on experience.
