Postdoctoral researcher in population biology and ecology (m/f) About the organization The Alpine Ecology Laboratory (LECA) is a Joint Research Unit (UMR) of the CNRS, the University of Grenoble Alpes (UGA) and the University of Savoie Mont-Blanc (USMB), and a member of the Grenoble Observatory of Universe Sciences (OSUG). LECA's research aims to understand the mechanisms behind biodiversity, understand its dynamics and decipher its role in the functioning of socio-ecosystems, and predict its response to anthropogenic pressures (climate change and land use change, pollution, biological invasions, etc.) with a particular focus on alpine environments. You will work under the supervision of Thibaut Capblancq and Olivier François, both lecturers and researchers at UGA and recognised experts in statistical modelling and genotype‑environment association (GEA) methods. This collaboration will offer you excellent opportunities for mentoring, technical development and exposure to cutting‑edge research in ecological genomics. You will develop and implement a statistical framework to: Identify the genetic basis of local adaptation to climate Estimate the maladaptation of populations to climate change Simulated and empirical data will be used to evaluate the potential of this approach in the context of predictive ecological genomics. Main activities During this project, you will be required to : Develop a mediation analysis model integrating phenotypes, genotypes and environmental variables in order to detect signals of local adaptation Conduct simulation studies to assess the strengths and limitations of the model Apply the model to real data sets Evaluate the potential of this approach to predict the maladaptation of populations in future climates Write scientific articles highlighting the results obtained Present your results at conferences Participate in the organisation of a thematic school or advanced workshop on different approaches to ecological genomics Qualifications required Doctorate Remuneration From €2,900 gross per month, depending on experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
