Group Head of IFRS Norms / French global leader in the finance industry sector The Opportunity We are looking for a highly skilled financial professional who will guide the group to report its financial results in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and advise on structuring business transactions to optimally contribute to the financial results. In this role you’ll report to the Group Head of Consolidation & Norms. About the team Consolidation & Norms is responsible for the group financial reporting process. It prepares the mother companies financial reports and directs and facilitates the group companies accounting functions to contribute effectively, timely and efficiently. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Monitor changes in rules, regulations, interpretations and jurisprudence that could impact the group’s financial reporting, such as IFRS, tax and civil code. Maintain the group accounting policies. Advise on how to structure major business transactions in order to optimally fit the financial effects to the group strategy. Advise the group top financial management on the accounting for major events impacting the group’s financials. Educate Finance professionals on applying the group accounting policies. Provide 2nd line consultancy to material and non‑routine accounting matters (1st line consultancy is provided by Global Business Lines and local accounting experts). On behalf of the group, discuss major and non‑routine accounting positions with auditors and their professional practices experts. As a successful IFRS consultant you enable compliant financial reporting that facilitates the group to achieve its strategy, with accounting positions taken on your recommendation accepted by the external auditors, stakeholders at all levels benefiting from your ability to understand business restrictions and opportunities, and auditors and senior management recognizing your authority as IFRS expert. Core Competencies Deep understanding of accounting principles and IFRS standards. Excellent conceptual thinker with a strong academic background. Ability to translate complex and ambiguous realities into manageable case descriptions. Ability to translate abstract rules to practical guidance in specific situations. Capability to consider complex problems from multiple points of view. Judgment in ambiguous situations. Communication Skills Treat dialogue partners with respect and understanding. Carefully listen to explanations of various stakeholders, summarize, and ask follow‑up questions to understand the real problem and interests behind a position. Understand diverging interests and positions of stakeholders and propose integrated win‑win solutions. Clearly explain complex matters to lay persons. Motivated and passionate about making a difference within hectic business deadlines. Very good proficiency in the English language. Relevant experience in discussing IFRS positions between auditors and auditees. Skills We'd Like University education in Finance. Understanding of tax and civil code legislation is a plus. Knowledge of other relevant languages (notably French and German) is a plus.
