Full-Stack Web Engineer - Full-time HyLight (YC S23) is seeking a Full-Stack Web Engineer to build the web applications that bring our airship data to customers and internal teams. Base pay range €45,000 - €65,000 (annual, based on experience) Job Summary HyLight designs and operates next‑generation airships that collect LiDAR, imagery, and methane data to help utilities and infrastructure operators inspect their networks more efficiently. We are looking for a Full‑Stack Web Engineer to build the web applications that make our data usable. This role bridges our client platform (maps, 3D models, reports) and our internal tools (flight dashboards, QC/review interfaces, admin panels). Your work will directly shape both customer experience and daily workflows of our operations team. Personal Note from Josef (CTO) This role connects everything we build from our airships in the sky to the tools our clients and team use on the ground. You’ll craft the web platforms that make HyLight’s data come alive: client portal, live dashboards, and internal tools. We’re a small, fast‑moving team, so your work will have a real impact from day one. If you love building clean, useful web products and want to shape the digital heart of HyLight, we’d love to have you on board. Missions Client Portal Develop a secure, modern web interface for clients to access LiDAR, imagery, and methane analytics. Integrate map viewers (2D & 3D) and reporting tools. Flight Operations Tools Build internal dashboards to monitor live airship telemetry, mission status, and sensor feeds. Support mission planning and data upload workflows. Internal Platforms Create QC/review interfaces for data validation. Develop admin tools to streamline operations and automate routine tasks. Engineering Design and implement APIs and services to support frontend applications. Create automations and implement AI tools. Ensure security, scalability, and good development practices. Collaborate closely with the Head of Data Platform and other engineers. Education & Experience Bachelor or Master in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent. 2+ years of web development experience in a startup or product environment. Track record of building user‑facing web applications end‑to‑end. Technical Skills Frontend: React / Next.js, TypeScript, TailwindCSS. Backend: Node.js (NestJS) or Python (FastAPI); REST/GraphQL APIs. Geospatial visualization: MapLibre GL, CesiumJS, or equivalent. Data viz: Chart.js, D3, or similar. Authentication & security: OAuth2, SSO, RBAC. Bonus: WebSockets or real‑time telemetry, mobile‑friendly app design. Soft Skills Builder mindset: comfortable delivering MVPs and iterating fast. Good product sense: understand customer needs and internal workflows. Collaborative and pragmatic: works well with data engineers, ops, and designers. Excited by climate tech and the impact of aerial inspection. Languages French – professional working proficiency. English – fluent; used for internal communication and documentation. What We Offer Annual compensation: €45,000 – €65,000 (based on experience). Real responsibility and direct impact on cutting‑edge autonomous flight technology. Mentorship with Tech and Regulatory teams. Potential to become a shareholder. 100% reimbursement of public transport pass (Navigo) or €800/year for sustainable commuting. Bike provided for commuting. Free lunch. Bi‑annual offsite trips with the whole team. Excellent work environment: international team, team events, beautiful offices on a former airbase. Why You Should Join Founder mentality: extreme ownership, fast decision making, natural problem solvers. Ground floor opportunity: help shape and grow a revolutionary company. Impact & speed: fast‑paced environment where contributions are immediately tangible. Interview Process Introductory phone call (20‑30 min). Technical case study followed by a debrief with a team member. Reference calls. On‑site meeting with the team (3‑4 h). Location Office: Base 217, Brétigny‑sur‑Orge, accessible via RER C.
